Considering your uncertain WIPs, I would abandon the first one as I agree that the colors are not highlighted on that fabric. I would restart on a different color fabric. For the calendar, I would just pick one color from the range and finish it that way. There's no need for a zillion colors in a piece that big. :P That's my two cents! Love your stitching and the way your mind works for stitching! :D

Now I have two ways in my arsenal to use those ornament balls😁and I really like your finish that you shared. As for your two WIPS, I personally would abandon the Swedish one, and would definitely go with your idea of choosing a FEW colors for the rest of the calendar and finish it like you suggested. Welcome back. Thank you for the tutorial. The first questionable WIP in question I would just get rid of. That color does not enhance the floss at all. The second one I would use fewer flosses and make it easier to stitch.

In regards to your WIP with many different flosses, I too worked on a project like that and drove me crazy, I almost didn’t finish it as I got so frustrated but in the end I did finish it and I love it but I would not do another project like that. So I feel your frustration. With that said your project looks amazing and beautiful just push through it and you’ll be happy you did.

Hi Arttie. So on your WIP with the grayish background fabric, it would make an adorable book cover, and that way you would only have to finish half 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks for the tutorial. Very cute and easy. Grandbaby is adorable! On the advent piece, I would pick fewer colors and go with that. I agree on the gray piece, just not standing out enough. Maybe if you did the old time back stitching in black we use to do it would help.

Nice finishes. I think finishing the Scandinavian piece as a half would be fine. Personally, If I really like a pattern, but don't like, or am having problems with the fabric, I restart it. I have done that on a few patterns. If you don't think you'll like stitching the advent color even if you just choose a handful of colors, I think using it as a give away is a good idea.

Just restart on better fabric. For the second one, I would pick your own colors and make it the way you want it!

I'm with you, Girlfriend! I can't bear a bunch of WIPS! I finished my WIPS on New Year 🎊 Day and had 4 new starts in New 🎉 Year's Day. Also, I completely agree that if you're just "done" with a project and you know you have no desire at all to stitch on it? Give it away! Move on! There is no extra credit for stitching what you no longer want to stitch!

I would pick you third opion pick what colors you want and go with it . Your first wip try on a different fabric and if your still not feeling it see if someone else wants it

On your dark grey fabric, I would finish it. If you frame it use a bright mat. If you make it into a large pillow use bright finishing cording. It will make the design pop. 🧡

As far as the project on the gray fabric, I totally agree with you that it doesn't work. The only solution besides dumping it, I can think of is to maybe find a really neat finishing fabric that highlights the design, cut it really close to the design (not leaving much gray to see around it) and make a pillow out of it.

I love the advent calendar and love the different colours, I think it needs the colours and would stitch it.. I would abandon the circle piece.

On the Scandinavian piece I would finish it as a half. That way it can get hung in a doorway or something thin. Beautiful stitching i have so many projects I want to get hands on and there isn't enough time in the day or energy in my body to do ❤

I agree with the one WIP. I like the grey fabric and the colors of the floss, but I don't like the two together either. I would toss it. The calendar I would just concentrate on one square at a time. Put all the colors together for one square and work only on that square. That is just my opinion. Love ya

Arttie, you are wayyy further along in the O Beautiful than I am. It looks great! For your "ornament" what about if you tried the other color in there as well to see if than tones down the brassiness of the yellow (wasn't there a red or orange)

On the piece of cross-stitch you don't like on Grey, I would abandon on that fabric. If you love the pattern, choose a new fabric and start over. Otherwise, it's a donation stitch because you don't care for it. On the advent, I would give it to someone else. 😊 I just don't think you will be happy. Stitch what you love!! It is so good to see you again. Land That I Love is gorgeous. My has been kitted up for a couple of years, I need to do it dog-gone it. An Arttie tutorial 🎉 thank you for sharing.

Finish this half on this fabric and do the other half on another fabric, then sew the two halves together.

Just a quick thought on your Advent Calendar piece, just pick a red from the list and go with it. Do the same with the other colors. I like your ornament tutorial. I love e thetutoria for your advent project, i would just continue and just pick the red green etc and keep themthe samethroughout the project. For the stitching with the housewives chart, I would restart. Those colors don't work on that gray.
