Options overwhelm!!! Paperclips and laces...My fingers are itching as I treck to my sewing bins. So many choices! This is the Gayle Trail buffet.... And with this lockdown these are the only indulgences allowed. How many calories are exploding in my craft room??? I'm going to be SUPER bubble wrapped like Michelin man with stuff I'm going to have to order. Fluffy, fussy. Flashy. Feathery. Fun

This is really one of my favorite parts of the junk journaling process- flipping through the pages and adding our own little personal touches!! I am making a few of these for gifts, and knowing how much time and effort I put into embellishing them and thinking of the person I am gifting them to- it is really so much fun!!

You need to put a soft mouse type pad on your glass plate to muffle the sounds as you put your scissors and tools down. It’s hard on ones ears if listening with ear buds to hear the scraping and clunking from the metal and plastic handles on the glass…also, is your glass mat level. It looks on camera like it is rocking.

Sorry if you've already answered this Gayle - how do you decide whether to sew backward a few stitches or to leave a length to tie them off? What are your considerations? Many thanks - I'm enjoying your craft-with-me videos - I feel like I'm in a graduate seminar for journal making!!
@gayleagostinelli_ct6 жыл бұрын
Judith, so sorry I just saw your comment. I don’t know how YT decides on notifications! Anyway, if the piece is going to be glued in any way, I don’t backstitch. If it’s going to be in a place where there will be tension, like a pocket edge, I always backstitch. Hope that helps! ❤️

Hi Gayle. You have a thread cutter on the back of your machine behind the needle. That's what happened when you thought you were out of bobbin thread. Your thread got caught in the thread cutters! Check it out!

Hi Ms.Gayle!!! I'm lovin this Boho journal! I've noticed that your thread isn't breaking anymore like it use too. I'm having the same problem with mine now. I have the same Singer Patchwork as you.( there's two) What did you do? I want to sew but afraid of ruining my paper. What to do, what to do??? Hugs ~Liz~
@gayleagostinelli_ct6 жыл бұрын
Liz, I don’t know why I’m not having trouble anymore. Nothing is different! ????? ❤️
@patpaiz56936 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth. This may sound stupid but here is an idea to try. I was having trouble with my thread breaking and bunching on the back. I got out my manual and rethreaded my machine step by step, just exactly the way it says. I think sometimes we get so familiar with the way we do things that we get sloppy. It actually worked. Also if you are having problems with skipped stitches or thread buggers on the back side, make sure that your sewing thread and bobbin thread are the same weight and brand. Most of the time this isnt an issue with my machine, but once in awhile it causes a problem and depending on the project it may save lots of frustration.
@elizabethkerckhoff12596 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply. I've reread and reread the manual. I like reading the directions on everything. I'm going to give it another try before taking it back. I have another sewing machine, but it was always giving me trouble. It would have great lines and then? I was still using the same thread and bobbin and then it would mess up. Got frustrated and bought this machine.I still have my other machine boxed up in my closet. I'm so happy that I didn't give it away.(telling them why I was giving it away)Thanks again for your advice. ~Liz~

Beautiful work, I LOVE that piece you ALMOST used as a fabric flip, SO BEAUTIFUL, it'd be perfect in a Christmas Journal too! LOL. What is the blue paper? (Or was it green) the one where you just put the floating pocket? Was that koolaid dyed or coffee died? Can't wait for the next episode! Hugs ~~Chelle
