On the beaded piece I'd Fabra Tack it at the length and just after the length you want before you cut it. Leave room between the edges for whatever cutters you choose. I'd use old scissors as cutting through beaded fabric dulls them. You are bound to break.some beads as you cut them. I love the double stitched edge. It looks so natural that way !!
@RhomanysRealm5 жыл бұрын
You could add elastic to the bead trim and make it a belly band for the cover, or even the whole book. Easy enough to cover the elastic with fabric so it matches.

Hi, look forward to seeing your process. On the beaded strip....you mentioned using the fabric glue quickly after cutting it. I wonder if you used the glue at the spot you will cut, let it dry well and then cut it if maybe the piece you are using wouldn’t lose any beads. ( The remnant probably will). Just a thought. 😊

Hi Gayle, I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel!!! I watched your entire Christmas journal series and found it so inspiring! I love how you go through the steps of creating the journal/photo album, I hope to create one for each of my daughters and any future grand children whenever that happens! Lol I binge watched those 10 episodes last night and today. You have finally helped me to decide what I'm going to do with all my crafting supplies, I'd been debating and trying to decide for the longest time what I wanted to devote my time to and create and my mind was constantly going from one thing to another! I played around w/ undated planners but wanted it to be used for something more, as you know people rarely stick w/ daily planning. So Christmas journals will be on my list to start and I would like to do a boho journal for my youngest daughter as she is getting married May 2019, and her theme is Boho Chic... hoping this video of yours helps my thought process! Thank you so much for sharing your talents, sorry this comment was so long!! You are so blessed and have an awesome personality... will watch you always now. A new subscriber, Marcella K

I hope my creative endeavors blossom as I get back into my crafting. I spent over 20 yrs just doing scrapbooks and don't own one of them, they were all gifts, or given to graduating seniors of our school every year for all sports throughout the entire year. I would like to do one themed "All About Me", between the journals that I have a long list to make, Lol. Wish me luck, I know as I made the scrapbooks before, the more I made the more ideas I came up with. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi Gayle. I’ve recently discovered your videos and love watching them. Finding a new Christmas journal video everyday was great. I’m excited to watch the BOHO journal videos also. I was thinking that, for the beaded piece, maybe you could decide where you want to cut it, reinforce either side of that spot with needle and thread and carefully snip the original thread.
@beadsboutique6 жыл бұрын
Hi Gayle, I'm a beader. (don't use glue....) You'd need to figure out what stitch was used, weave a new thread in where you want to shorten it, following the thread path. Reinforce that area well. Snip below it. I'm happy to help you with this, if you want to send it my way. Wouldn't take long, but I'd need to know how long you'd like your pieces. It would also be a good idea to send along the spare beads in case... :D -Amy

Hey Gayle, beautiful journal cover love all the fabrics and i was shaking my head at the pictures of Mrs cogs too, they just didn't seem to fit and there beautiful digis. Also where it came to that beaded piece you wanted to use as a belly band i would glue it too a stabilizer then glue it on the outside where you are going to cut. If done correctly you shouldn't loose beads hun. Hope this helps. Xx

Gail Stubbings I was thinking the same thing about cutting the beaded trim. I use tacky glue since it dries clear and immediately starts holding the beads on. I used beaded scarves that I cut apart in my boho journal. They were so much fun to use.

This is so fun, Gayle! I've been thinking about that beaded piece, what if you put it Horizontally on a page so that you don't have to cut it, to make two seperate belly bands? If you put it just above or below the center, you could miss it when you sew in the signatures?
