Hi Gayle. Great idea. I think you should make some using your own digitals and sell them in your Esty shop. Interesting papers...everyone could use that. 😊 I have no one to make them for which brought forward the idea of selling them in your shop. As usual you gave me an idea for a journal card that is brilliant. TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞

Such cute booklets. Great idea for a thank you in a order. 😊. I made 12x12 scrapbooks for each of our kids when they graduated from high school. The first page was a photo from our wedding. Then I went from new born through their graduation. That way when they left home for college or other endeavors in their life they would always remember where they came from and know their way home. Happy graduation Addie! May the Lord guide you as you leave home into all he has planned for you and that you always remember the way home ❤️😊.

I made a big folder/scrap book for each year of my children’s lives, up to and including their 18th year, with pictures, essays and other school papers, drawings etc etc. They are housed in big plastic tubs that have travelled with us as we’ve moved several times to different places of the world. My kids are now in their late 40s, and to this day they love looking through them - oh yeah, I remember when I made that drawing, oh, I had forgotten about that trip. Also, every time my son comes to visit, we dig out my old photo albums and he has me tell him whatever comes to mind about a given picture, while he films and records me. This all then goes into private online family archives that he created several years ago. This also includes random talks we’ve had, and talks he’s had with his dad throughout the years, about his childhood etc. This kid is something else!☺️ Like your husband says, in 3 generations we’ll be forgotten, and my biggest fear has always been being nothing but a name on a gravestone, but with these archives, my story is preserved. interest in history has been passed on. In fact, talking about that - and here’s something you don’t know about me: A few years ago, I was knighted by the king of Norway for my research into WW 2 Norwegian ships and seamen, which means you can now call me Dame Siri ☺️ Oh boy, that was a long post tootin’ my own horn!

Absolutely congratulations!! That's awesome. My grandmother has done albums of our childhoods, we did have old card albums made too, but over the last 40÷ years, they didn't fare as well. I am so happy for you and your son. Those memories are irreplaceable and can go with us when it's our time. What a beautiful history your son has of his life and all your amazing accomplishments 😊
@sirilawson25577 ай бұрын
@@jennylawson1980 I’ve made a big album for my grandson too. He’s not all that interested yet but hopefully as he gets older. I can’t stand having pics on phones or tablets etc, I need to be able to hold them in my hand, and see them all at the same time. It was a dive into genealogy a few years ago that made me realize we may eventually just end up as names and dates on a headstone, a long life lived with all its ups and downs, that nobody would know anything about. I just hated the thought. Also, old pictures with no names on them! That has made me more careful to make a note of who’s who for future generations. Plus, all my son’s recordings are so valuable in that respect. He has also taken me around the house to film me while I point out little heirlooms, and talk about who they originally came from etc☺️ Ok - I know, I talk way too much lol

Congrats to Addie and her family - big milestone! These are fun little booklets. I haven't sold anything for a while - I've been kind of having a break from crafting, I guess. I've done some tags and played with new stamps as they've come in, but my oomph kind of left me last fall when my sister got sick and then really took a hike when she passed in December. Now my brother-in-law (widower of another sister) has passed and it feels just as traumatic. This couple was married for a full year before I was even born, so he's always been my brother-in-law, and kind of a 2nd dad. His two eldest kids are very near me in age and the three of us are very close. Anyway, seeing you do this which is non-committal and so sweet has given me a spark. Maybe a way to get back into things, and use up a bunch of my stash while I'm at it. :)

Your little piece of string that you used up reminded me of “pieces of string to short to save“. It was the title of I think a found object art installation. The artist had read about a naturalist who when he died amongst his effects they found a little box full of scraps and written on the box was pieces of string too short to save, and that inspired the title of his found object art installation.

Fun little video for sharing papers with others! I read a tiny little quick read book called I think “The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning” and I know it sounds morbid but it wasn’t. It talked about how they go through their belongings when they start to get older and get rid of things they don’t need or use anymore so that when they pass away they don’t leave a huge burden behind for their family to have to deal with. It also talked about only having the things you love and need in your life so it’s less complicated and cluttered. It really made a lot of sense to me and I’m trying to do it but it’s taking me forever. I need to try harder at it. I’ve accumulated a lot of stuff over 60 years and it’s weighing me down. 😊

When I ordered awhile back, I ordered the paper Gayle uses, but they also had several varieties of sampler packs that had one sheet each of whatever the category the pack was. I thought it was fun to pull out something different to try printing tags or whatever on to see what kind of difference it makes, without committing to a whole pack of something. Each page in the sampler is labeled, so you know what it is, but also you might have to glue something over the label if you use that particular sheet for a project.

With that being said, I have a little bit of a history fact to tell you about the music sheet you included in the booklets today. The music author from the late 1800s Scott Joplin was the "King of Ragtime" during that time. I will attempt to attach a clip of "Pine Apple Rag" or "Pineapple Rag".
