I am glad I’m not alone using up packaging. I know I’m new to this whole junk journaling thing but when I first started buying Timmy stuff I thought wow these packages are great for bases for journal cards etc....woot! Today my hubby went to throw away his tissue box and I thought ....tear that box apart. So I did and got two belly bands, several tags, a few journal card bases and all out of ONE box. I don’t know if you’ve tried that but thought I’d share the idea to you and your followers. Hugs. 🥰

Always love the scraps & packaging tutorials. It’s one of my favorite parts of creating tags & journal cards. I believe the crazy weather is partly due to all of wildfires. Please have the West Coast in your prayers, we are getting pummeled with all of the fires. Many thousands misplaced due to the fires. I did see parts of Montana also got hit with fires in parts too. Yep , that's kind of what happened to us here in New Mexico. Monday was 95 degrees, Tuesday was 46. We had really hard winds and Tuesday evening large parts of the downtown area of Albuquerque lost power and IU t was out for almost 30 hours. Lots if rain which we did need. Brought all of our plants inside. And because of the fires, today was actually the first day we had sun.

I collect all the marketing "postcards" (?) I get -- from political campaigns, window & siding companies, and realtors. They're slick, but they take paper and glue really well, so when I get a bunch together, I collage them like you do your your running book pages. Because some are much larger than others, I wind up with a huge odd-sized rectangle and I cut that into bases for tags, journaling cards, belly bands, and pockets/tucks. Keeps them out of the landfill!

I have saved packaging and tags from clothing to make tags. When you have a teenage girl in sports we seem to have many clothing tags. What a wonderful video showing how to use them. I wouldn't have thought to collage them, I would have just used one piece of paper and then decorated. Thanks for the inspiration! Our temps took a huge swing from the 90's to highs in upper 40's last week. The panhandle of Nebraska had snow but here in the central part we just had much needed rain. Warmer this weekend. Have a blessed day Gayle!

I have a funny story for you! When I made you the birthday collage paper, I showed my mom the video in which you were using it to collage your template holder. My mom shrieked, “She’s ripping it up!” I couldn’t stop laughing. I said. “That’s what I made it for, she’s a collage artist!” 😂🤣😂
@margaretcomella33184 жыл бұрын
I've had that same question...and the same answer. But I have a new one...why use the heavy packaging if you're completely covering it...even the different shaped holes? It seems we're just adding unnecessary bulk to our books....? If you collage a book page on both sides, as you've done with the long runs of collaged pages, isn't that plenty of weight for a tag or card? My thoughts for saving packaging has been because the packaging itself can be really nice...like the TH packaging cards. So I hope to use them as a starting point/background...starting with clear gesso to dull down the shiny ones...then decorating as we do on other tags & pockets. Anyway...just sharing...we all have different ideas. That's what makes for all the lovely variety. 🙂❤
