One of my favorites is "Love Buzz", the main bass riff is bouncy and fun to play! That's honestly one of my favorite Nirvana songs overall, not only does it sound like Nirvana should, it's kind of complex for a Nirvana song. And thanks for the "Sliver" shout-out, I'm a gigantic fan of pop punk and that song in particular has always stood out to me because it's the closest they came to sounding like a pop punk band, it's bright and happy sounding which greatly contrasts the rest of Nirvana's discography. It even lyrically matches a pop punk song, it's about growing up, it's one of their greatest deep cuts!
@Litt1nger8 ай бұрын
you know its a cover?
@pustulioyo8 ай бұрын
@@Litt1nger yes, and Nirvana's version is better than the original. It's a case that's similar to "1985" by Bowling for Soup or "I Love Rock and Roll" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts: they are not the ones who originally created the song, but they are the ones that perfected it.
@Sarah-t4k2d4 ай бұрын
@@pustulioyoyou can't make a cover more perfect than its original take, silly😅 you may prefer this one more, but better😂
@pustulioyo4 ай бұрын
@@Sarah-t4k2d I think the two examples I gave speak for themselves, especially "1985". I dare you to listen to the SR-71 original and tell me with a straight face that it's better than the BFS cover. You would be lying to yourself, even Mitch Allen, the lead singer of SR-71 (now defunct) and the writer of the song, has admitted it is BFS's song at this point and they did a better job. Or "Hurt" by Johnny Cash. I only say Johnny Cash because Trent Reznor, the man who is Nine Inch Nails and wrote the OG, openly believes it's no longer his song, and again, I dare you to tell me the original is better than Johnny Cash's absolutely soul crushing take on it. Covers can definitely be better than the original and the proof is in the pudding at this point. "Love Buzz" is one of those covers for me, along with "Working Class Hero" by Green Day, "Land Of Confusion" by Disturbed, "The Boys of Summer" by The Ataris, "Little Lion Man" by Tonight Alive (hot take, but I love it), and "99 Red Balloons" by Goldfinger, just to name a few. Hell, there are even some covers of absolute classics I think are just as good as the original or, at the bare minimum, very admirable efforts, like Fall Out Boy's cover of "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, Disturbed's cover of "The Sound of Silence", or New Found Glory's cover of "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer.
