How to clean & Re-Oil your Air Filter (We switched from red to black too)

It's not as black as I would like but I think over the course of several cleanings & re oilings it will look blacker. Either way we cleaned it & it's lookin FRESH! My understanding is that the cotton type are one time use filters and are restrictive , whereas the high performance filters are not. K&N has different kits , some are for use for cotton filters and other type is not. I talked to K&N and they advised to not use the for cotton kits on the performance filters

Yes. The recharge kit is only for filters tha require a recharge

I use the cleaner, let it soak 20-30 minutes then dawn dish soap in a bucket half full of water, keep working it untill filter is clean, rinse and let dry then aerosol spay oil sparingly

Did the same mistake with too much oil. I also went the lazy route and just tried to get rid of the excess oil. 2 days later the map sensor on my car stopped working likely from oil being sucked into it. Man cleaning these things just aint worth the effort from now on I'll just buy new filters 😄

Yeah I hear ya. Cleaning them is barely required and new filters aren’t expensive

First time using the squeeze bottle and I did the same thing over oiling it, it was leaking a little onto the frame of my bike. Hoping after dabbing it with a microfiber for a little bit it should be good haha

Hey Great channel … the assault intake I run the same on my low rider s I feel it’s extremely difficult to get to my rear break . Do they make some kind of extension to the rear break lever so it comes out more?

The only extension I know is very minor and it’s from S & S and it’s designed to replace the whole brake lever to be used with their exhaust

I’m not sure why you have an issue because I’m pretty short and I have zero issue unless you are running forwards by any chance? I can see why that might be an issue to some degree? But if you are talking about length or position you can check out my install videos that I did for my current set up but I am running a flo motor sports adjustable lever, and green brothers adjustable linkage. Between the two of those parts you can put your break peg in several different spots on the lever and adjust the height of the liver and it’s a huge game changer

the reason the oil is red is so you can see when the filter is dirty and requires cleaning...
