Thanks Peter. You're right the conflict is unique, unfortunately I expect there will be a huge effort to spin doctor the narrative to turn "whatever this is" into something far less than what's been suggested by the SA/UN. Sorry about the vague use of language here, KZbin has a tendency to auto delete comments mentioning anything about this conflict, but I think we all see what's going on :( Appreciate this video.

thanks for this nauseating overview - The U.S. invasion of Iraq starting in 1991, leading to U.S. led UN sanctions called genocidal, and then the 2nd invasion with depleted uranium - certainly created a precedence.

@@Joe-zw8yk it wasn't just the U.N. - I wrote a graduate paper on it. The U.N. workers resigned from the U.N. to protest the genocide - so you have it turned around. "I've been using the word 'genocide' because this is a deliberate policy to destroy the people of Iraq. I'm afraid I have no other view,'' Halliday told journalist David Edwards in a March 2002 interview. Halliday's successor in Iraq, Hans von Sponeck, also resigned citing the same reasons after a year-and-a-half. The two former U.N. staffers, with 64-years combined experience working at the world body, said what was inflicted on the Iraqi people during the 12-plus years of sanctions is tantamount to crimes against humanity. " A declassified document from the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in 1991 - titled "Iraq's Water Treatment Vulnerability'' -outlined with deadly precision the effect economic sanctions would have on Iraq's water supply. "Iraq depends on importing specialized equipment and some chemicals to purify its water supply,'' the DIA report, dated January 22, 1991, said. "Failing to secure supplies will result in a shortage of pure drinking water for much of the population. This could lead to increased incidences, if not epidemics, of disease. "Although Iraq is already experiencing a loss of water treatment capability, it probably will take at least six months (to June 1991) before the system is fully degraded.'' Thomas Nagy, a professor at George Washington University who discovered and brought the DIA document to the media's attention, said the U.S. government knew the sanctions would result in water-treatment failure and, consequently, would kill an incalculable number of Iraqis. As outlined by the Geneva Conventions, he says, that is a war crime. "

State of Our Union A parody sing along to Genesis’ Land of Confusion [Verse 1] We all have dreamed a thousand dreams Been haunted by ten million screams How long ‘til we hear marching feet Moving back into the streets? Now did you hear his speech that day? He said danger’s gone away But we can see the fires still alight They’re burning into the night [Pre-Chorus] These politicians, too many liars Solving too few problems And not enough love to go round Can’t you see this is the State of Our Union? [Chorus] This is the world we live in (Oh, oh,oh) And these are the hands we’re given (Oh, oh, oh) Use them and let’s start trying (Oh, oh, oh) To make this a place worth living in [Verse 2] Ooh Superman where are you now? Things unraveling quick and how The ones who own, the ones in power Know they’re losing control by the hour [Pre-Chorus] This is the time, this is the place Now we look to the future Hoping there’ll be some love t’go round Tell me why this is the State of Our Union (Chorus] This is the world we live in (Oh, oh,oh) And these are the hands we’re given (Oh, oh, oh) Use them and let’s start trying (Oh, oh, oh) To make this a place worth living in [Bridge] Remember not so long ago Ooh, when the sun was shining Yes, and the stars were bright all through the night And the sound of your laughter as you cackled in fright Not long ago [Verse 3] We head into Dylan’s “good night” Nothing gentle will put this right We’re tired of hearing promises That we know you’ll never keep [Pre-Chorus] Population. Too many people Makes for too many problems Not enough love for Earth round Problem is this is the State of Our Union (Chorus] Now, this is the State we live in (Oh, oh,oh) And these are the hands we’re given (Oh, oh, oh) Use them and let’s start trying (Oh, oh, oh) To make this a place worth living in Yes, this is the life we’re given (Oh, oh, oh) So let’s stand up and start showing (Oh, oh, oh) Just what for life we will do

@@Joe-zw8yk Anybody who talks about human shields as a justification for dead civilians is an idiot. Attempting to claim that Hamas are genocidal force (as a justification for Palestinian genocide) is vile. In the case that it were true, genocide wouldn't justify genocide. Regarding genocide and colonialism a way to determine the truth that doesn't rely on just "he said she said" logic, is to look at firstly what actions the IDF have taken that can't be dismissed. They've intentionally starved and delayed aid, denied clean water (which cannot be taken to be an accident or separate from the context). Even if you were to only look to IDF sources, their rhetoric and focus is contradictory and usually just outright calling for genocide. Every attack on civilians such as attacks on hospitals was routinely denied at first before then claiming these things were deserved. Israel and the USA also say contradictory things regarding their intentions, the USA will often claim Israel put forward ceasefire details that the Israeli government then also deny. Like this was already too much to comment on, alexfrankkklin's comment was just outright racist and stupid. Though I'm sure you're well meaning and totally not just a Zionist.
