We should be running, not making small steps like an increase in funding and a global carbon market. But that does not make it a swindle.

By 2035 the wealthier nations will be struggling to fix their own infrastructure, housing etc after weather events - hurricanes, floods etc. Just this year the USA has huge costs. This according to AI 'In summary, the estimated cost of hurricane repairs in the USA for 2024 is projected to be between $127 billion to $129 billion.'

Does anyone know how you avoid carbon without nuclear? if its real bad to store it for hundreds of thousands of year, the left over radiation. I want to make some ballot measure in Ohio and in one ballot measure I wanted to ban all gas and the existing coal plants and phase them out over 15-20 seeking funding from the EPA. If you can't do biomass at a large scale, what else is there? i looked into hydro pump energy storage hybrid systems and the turbines would freeze over in January-february winter months. How does Sweden have clean energy? I'm not sure how many ballot measures I can get approved by the attorney general of Ohio but I have a couple big ones and I am looking for alternatives to nuclear and somehow large scale biomass plants? Ohio is pretty republican but it is also I very large population spread out over the entire state, so I think Climate change is an important factual quest I can sell to the media and have everyone vote on it. What are the alternatives to nuclear or Hydro LARGE SCALE MW ?

6 degree C higher is what the atmosphere was when CO2 was last this high. So we are getting at least that hot again. With methane levels this high and getting higher this will come fast. This century, this decade, we don't know. 60c/135f summers are going to be the norm. Great time to be a reptile. Not a good time for mammals. You are a mammal. Underground quarters for summer heat may keep us alive. And Jeremy my friend, the wealthy are raised by nannies and not allowed a loving bond, so they have no empathy. This cannot be changed in adulthood.

If all we have to do are a few things that are easy to do as you suggest, then let's do it. Don't think of climate change as a bad thing, think of it as mother nature's correction mechanism. Or think of climate change as the Universe's preference toward high entropy and we're good at it, so we're doing the will of the Universe. Feel proud for helping the Universe 10X more than without fossil fuel!

Are you kidding? NordStream effect. 475 thousand tones of methane were dumped in the atmosphere, 80x more damaging than carbon dioxide and will last for 20+ years destroying our environment (Google it). It will not be absorbed by trees or plants or oceans, the only way methane will deplete when the gas molecules get hit by the solar flares. Now we have in the stratosphere 15+ trillion gallons of the most damaging greenhouse gas.

This video has the United Nation’s Climate Change disclaimer. The cause of global warming is not know in 2024. Global warming was officially reported at 1.1°C in 1991 and 1.06°C in 2022. There has been no climate change due to global warming. Global warming at 1.5°C was predicted to cause climate change with stronger observable hurricanes in the Gulf-of-Mexico. It is scientifically impossible for greenhouse gas behavior to cause global warming. Before Al Gore became US vise president in 1992 earth's water vapor saturated greenhouse effect was taught in US public education. All the greenhouse radiant energy from the earth is completely absorbed in earth's water vapor saturated greenhouse effect by greenhouse gases within 20 meters of the radiating surface adding 5.55°C (10°F) to earth’s average temperature. Its further heat transfer is by convection i.e. gas molecules bumping into to each other. The back of the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) science report states it took its greenhouse gas samples at 20,000 meters altitude where it is common high school level knowledge there is no greenhouse radiant energy. This is typical practice for deceptive marketing to state legal data transparency protecting the perpetrators from fraud prosecution. The IPCC has been transparent with its data acknowledging it is not dealing with active greenhouse gases. Earth's greenhouse effect is frequently used as a primary example to high school students of a system always in saturation from the strong greenhouse gas water vapor absorbing all the greenhouse radiant energy from the earth with greenhouse gases within 20 meters of the radiating surface that is all around us everyday and can't have its overall effect changed. There is no further greenhouse radiant energy to interact with greenhouse gases. At 1% average tropospheric water vapor over 99% of earth’s greenhouse effect is from water vapor. Water vapor would hold earth's greenhouse effect in saturation if it were the only greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. The overall average temperature gain to the earth from the earth’s greenhouse effect is 5.55°C (10°F). 0.4% of the atmosphere is CO2 and on average 1% is H20 water vapor. (1% H20)/(0.4% CO2) = 25. Water vapor is 25 times more present in the atmosphere on average than CO2. Water vapor has an CO2e of 18, 18 X 25 = 450 CO2e total for water vapor to 1 CO2e for CO2. Arctic warming is taking place with the proving mechanism being warm Atlantic Ocean waters migrating deeper and more frequently into the Arctic Ocean warming it and the region. The warmer Arctic Ocean water is causing a few weeks less of reflective snow and ice surface cover resulting in more solar heat gain to the Arctic region surface. Atmospheric CO2 levels of 1200 ppm about three times what they are today would greatly invigorate C3 plants the majority of plant life on earth greatly greening the planet. C3 plants evolved over 100 million years ago when atmospheric CO2 levels were ten times those of today determined by plant fossils. The Earth’s oceans have 3-1/2 million sea floor volcanic vents warming the water and changing it’s chemistry that have not been systematically accounted for. There has been no credible Climate Change due to global warming as of 2024. Climate Change was expected to start to take place when global warming reached 1.5°C causing observable stronger hurricanes in the Gulf-of-Mexico. The term Climate Change started being used at the beginning of the 1980s to cause alert to a broad audience of the long term effects of increasing average global temperatures. The promotional term Climate Change in the early 1980s was grounded on actions already taken by Gulf-of-Mexico offshore crude oil drilling companies in the 1970s to build for stronger hurricanes due to warmer Gulf waters predicted to start when average global temperatures increased 1.5°C on track for 2010. That action was taken for a predicted long term change in weather patterns or climate that backed up the use of the term Climate Change.

I feel hopeless.....so many deniers and they are all in the position of power and make the decisions that could move us away from this disaster but won't. I think it will take a lot of people being affected in the developed nations for anyone to do anything about it and by then it will be too late. The only good news is that we have all the tools available to change course.....but it seems humans aren't very good at the long game....only at emergencies to make changes....

You cannot change the mind of America’s climate deniers - I have tried - these people cannot comprehend much of anything. They only adhere to conspiracy theories - make one - up present it to them - and they will adhere to it. I don’t understand how these people - 52% of the US Population -think; but it seems completely unfounded stories such as UFO sightings, Bigfoot sightings/stories are much easier for these folks to comprehend than are actual fact based scenarios.

Complete Nonsense, using models to predict future scenarios. Shit data in always gives shit results. Our earth is 70% water, 30% land and we measure earths temp in cities which cover about 0.8 % of earths land mass. Cities are heating up because more and more people are living in cities. If you use measure the earths temp by weather balloon data then we are only slightly warming up 1.2 degrees in 140 years, the same rate that mars is warming up without any Co2. Please read “ unsettled” by Steve Koonan and “Heaven and Earth book by Pilmer. It’s so obvious that it’s happening naturally, during the Covid issue, the worlds emissions dropped by 5% but the rate of Co2 carried on, the rate didn’t change, almost as if we have no impact on it. Then the ridiculous drive to reduce meat consumption, to reduce methane !!! Termites also have a stomach and produce thousand times more methane than cows. Methane is also short lived in the atmosphere. We are now at Cop29 and after trillions spent on climate change, it hasn’t changed the co2. Wake up its a bloody scam, just like the hole in the ozone layer, the hole in 2023 was the biggest it’s ever been, and not only that scientists have found two more holes, so after nearly 49 years of not using cfc,s things have got worse, another scam.

Seems to be no doubt that there an amount of extra black body molecules between earth surface and outer space. Methane for example. That do absorb OLR on its way out to balance input. Can someone explain to me the mechanical thermodynamics by which this extra thermal energy from 60 miles of air overhead is walked all the way back down to actually heat the surface ? You can’t just automatically add it using black body math of solid black bodies. Can you ?

Peter, climate scientist need to read a little from the political scientists. You must read Chemerinskys new book, No Democracy Lasts Forever. The political system represents protect a minority. Majority of Americans want stronger regulations but that will not happen until we create a political system that represents the majority.
