Hi, my name is Moony. I’m Israeli, Jewish, liberal, ex-orthodox and right winger, leaving in Yaffa, and I would love to chat with you. I grew up in Jerusalem during the second Intifada. I grew up always alert and scared of terror that was all over-muslim shahides bombed themselves in buses, restaurants, hotels and Universities, muslim arabs stabbed, shoot and murdered antire families I personally know. On the roads or in their bads, kids and elderly. missiles been shot on a daily basis to my sister’s home in Sderot from Jabaliya and I remember myself as a child wondering how come that the palestinian are so cruel to us. Like what’s the justification for that. And I always got the answer you guys answered here to yourselves- because they hate us, for no reason. Just because we’re Jews. We have a special destiny or wisdom and they’re jealous, because they want to illuminate us and so on - so both sides feels exactly the same. The Nakba started after 5 araby armies opened a war against us and tried to thwart the idea of a Jewish state. We came here as a survivors from Europe, weak and exhausted. our entire families and communities were killed in Europe. We didn’t come here like the strong white colonists who wanted to occupy the natives. That’s bullshit. There wasn’t a Palestinian country back then, it was a British colony, and the british are the ones who decided to split the land and promise it to the Jews, Palestinian and French for their own interests. The Jews happily agreed to the UN plan of 48’ borders and the palestinian leadership combined with the Arab countries around opened a war against us. Haj Amin El Housseiny had a big part in this case. Just as you said - you both were born in Saaudi Arabie and Urdun, you have planty of muslim countries and spaces to be in, all over the globe. 52 countries. We tried to have our own one tiny country (that we have prooved historically connection to) and to share it with the locals so we can both live here together. I’m so sorry to hear your pain. I’m so sorry it caused by our ppl, I’m sure you’re sharing the truth the way you saw it. But please - lets take the responsibility of being violent, from both sides. Let’s not be a victims of this conflict over and over again, because it will never end this way. Let’s be open minded to hear the other side and the suffering of both sides, just as I’m doing right now when listening to this podcast. We both feel exactly the same..that’s unbelievable. I’m here and open to have a respectful conversation with you. I used to be in Gush Katif before we withdrew from Gaza and felt it all from the other side of the checkpoints.. and till this day I wonder why the land of Gush Katif became a terrorists territory instead of flourishing areas. Let’s have a conversation ❤️🙏🏼🇮🇱

I didn’t realise the impact her story would have on me, every time she stopped to gather her thoughts and composure, it paralysed me, fearing the horrors she was going to speak, she is an amazing human being, telling the story of her family with so much description, I was able to visualise every single one of her words, she must keep talking about her trauma. I feel her story must be made into a documentary and she should narrate her family’s story. Maybe her family have gone but they must never be forgotten among the viscous genocide that is taking place. One last thing, I don’t want to hear anyone tell me that Jews are the most persecuted people in history, this lady’s story tells us different. ☮️💟🇵🇸

I absolutely agree - it is such a harrowing story, and reminded me of the fear I felt on behalf of the Palestinians when I heard of the attack on 7th October. And I'm a white English woman living in in Aotearoa/ New Zealand. I think though that it is helpful to differentiate between Jewish people and zyo ni sts - many of the Jewish people have suffered badly from persecution. Many of the zyos (who are not necessarily Jewish) founded ishrahell, stole land and have committed atrocities against the Palestinians.

@@Waitingformartywhat nonsense you are spewing. All the land they have was the result of direct purchase, defensive wars and overwhelming votes of the League of Nations and the UN. At most you might same some of the settlement land was gained through assertive means but considering that the land is contested, that the Palestinians have rejected all efforts at peace, and that the settlements came well after rightly 50 years of Arab aggression, what do you expect.

Yes, the academic achievements of you and your family are the most respected and amazing achievements compared to almost any family I have ever known or heard of. I too believe the israelis were jealous of the people in Gaza and knew full well of their academic scholarship. That's why they destroyed 3 universities and more. When I have heard israelis interviewed and a particular israeli woman said that they have to make sure the Palestinian education does not include slandering the israelis but rather scholastic capability which she said isn't the in place now. The Palestinians were already way beyond the israelis scholastically. Jealousy of these accomplishments along with the 500 billion$ of oil&gas beneath Gaza, primarily, were what was the driving force&motive for the israeli gen*cide of the highly accomplished people of Palestine.

Another late night drawn in by what is happening to Palestinians. Hala, you are very brave to share your pain when it is still like a dam about to flood and so difficult to contain….and Ahmad, I give thanks you are there to enable Hala’s sharing and so her healing…indeed the world needs to know these deeply personal stories so as to see beyond the news on mainstream media. I deeply appreciate that you both, having lost your families, that you have been able to share your loss and I pray for hope and light to bless your lives into the future, that future that will extend beyond what may now appear to to be a conquest by Israel, to the time when justice will be served, for indeed it will be. It may take time but there are many who have come together in support of Palestine…millions, if not billions, who want to see justice served. We shall not give up until this is done. As Ahmad says, you now have a family in the world….brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, grandmothers…..we are here…so good you decided to open up and walk towards us. Our arms are open. You will have won this war if you do not allow Israel to destroy your life , your potential for living and and your ability to love and be happy as is your basic human right. This is the first step towards justice. I cried with you tonight…I hope I’ll cry with you again, but next time tears of joy. Salaam!

Culture in tact ? And may I ask what culture is that ? Islamic ideology is hardly a culture ! More an idology. War is war, many die and in many ways. But we all hope they are not murdererd in cold blood , face to face ! Burned alive , huddled in a corner ,women raped and then facial character shot away with rifle. Is it they you don,t believe this was the case ? Hamas actually filmed these barbaric acts perpetrated by your so called culture. If this is true” can I ask why you feel sympathy for such a culture? Or are you naive ?
