@@KeimpieceCarpentry what was your experience using the underlayment tile for your pavers they acttuly work ... i havent use it. But why did you chosse those instead use geo textile. Or honey combs grid both you need a tone of gravel...
@KeimpieceCarpentry
@KeimpieceCarpentry 2 жыл бұрын
@@jaandel1 That's exactly why I used them, I didn't want to have to use all the gravel. You don't save money, because the black panels are just as expensive as 4 bags of gravel. Each panel is $12. They actually cost me more money than the pavers did. But it saves the time of having to dig down 4 to 5 additional inches to lay the gravel. Plus it saves the work of laying the gravel. They hold up alright. This particular paver patio was problematic because of the amount of roots. They just never end. Even after digging out about 2 feet of dirt, there were still so many roots. It was very hard getting everything nice and level.

The braces for the the side pergolas were definitely large to support those timbers above. Weight, wind load, spans, etc. Always helps to know an engineer who can run the numbers.

Thanks for watching. Timber framing is fascinating to me. I would have loved to do true mortise and tenon joints but that would have taken so much longer.

I’m very much like you. I will design a way to do a “five-guy job” by myself, rather than soliciting help from others. Once I have “help”, the job always slows down as I can’t think straight because the “help” is “helping”….. 😂. Great work and I commend you for doing it yourself!!

thanks for watching! It would have been really helpful if I had someone assist with the sanding and staining of all the pieces. That took a lot of time and doesn't require skill or strength. I remember the one day, as I was standing there covered in sweat, if she could just sand the pieces while I worked out in the sun assembling, it would save me a lot of time. She screamed at me and said I should have hired someone to help. So I said fine! I'll do it alone and I hope I pass out from the heat on the roof and you feel really bad about it!!!!!!

Nice to see the wife and family helping out. eye roll. I also love his selection of work shoes every day. :) always different but rarely safe. lol Used the shit out of the 2 wheeler too. I might have spent some of that saved money on a fancier one.

I asked my wife to help sand one time and she threw a fit, so after that I was hell bent on doing everything alone and secretly hoping I'd suffer a heat stroke on the roof to make her feel bad!
