I just bought this bike from a local dealer. They had an excellent assortment and let me test ride a number of models down the street to a test hill. I’m really glad I was able to do that. If I tried to pick one based on specifications, I would have ended up with the wrong ebike. The Gazelle T10 just felt right. It was a comfortable fit and had plenty of power even for this 200+ lb guy. Having a local shop saved me from making a multi-thousand dollar mistake with an online sale. TRY YOUR BIKE FIRST. I can’t emphasize this enough. My local shop earned their money and my business.

That rear lock is ART 2 certified so you've satisfied the insurance requirement for keeping the bike locked. Easy to use so you always use it. I only use that lock by itself at the office where we have our own parking places and at home. For parking elsewhere I also use an Abus Ivy.

Great review. How would you compare the Gazelle Utlimate t10 to the Specialized Como 5.0 for comfort, stability and power up hills?

He doesn’t deal with Specialized

Do you have more info on adding an external lock onto the integrated tire lock? The Gazelle website is very vague with compatible accessories.

Nice review! 🙏🏾👏🏾 😊 At first really loved this EBike, however after much deliberation and personal experience with maintenance on chains and derailleurs 😬🥵thought otherwise. Why should we fork out thousands of dollars on a Commuter type eBike that hasn’t progressed on to Belt Drive?? Not doing it!! Turns out that Gazelle does have basically the same bike, but with a Belt Drive. It’s called the Ultimate C380, but not being exported to North America!! And it’s only in a boring gray color. 🤔 Come on Gazelle!! Where are the choices??

Thanks Gregory! I appreciate the feedback. I totally get where you're coming from and I hope that they eventually bring that bike to the states, but I think this bike is still a great fit for so many riders.

As a touring bike, great. As an everyday utility bike, pretty ordinary. Disc brakes get banged up, as does the exposed derailleur; exposed chain gets dirty, makes a mess (your pants still hit it) & need maintenance... and I'm still not convinced about hydraulic brakes - too easily cut by vandals.
@Propelbikes4 жыл бұрын
We don't really have the issue of the brakes being cut by vandals, but having a protected chain is helpful. Here in the states the racks aren't as crowded so disc brakes still work really well for commuters. Good points though

Nice review of the bike. I am curious with the stiffer frame on this Ultimate model did Gazelle stop the squeaking noise that affected the Bosch Power Tube battery mount on the Arroyo Elite model? reported by two owners on the EBR forum eg electricbikereview.com/forum/threads/2019-gazelle-arroyo-elite-squeak-when-frame-flexes-identified.27589/

I believe they did. We sold several of these bikes and I didn’t see the issue, but that happens sometimes. There is also an adjustment on the lock which you can shift the battery placement. Not sure if that was tried.

The Purion display has in my opinion a big disadvantage. It makes it much more easy for thieves. If they are able to get the bike from the lock, it is ready to roll and work. I always remove my display when parking my bike, but this is not possible with the Purion. I would not buy a bike with this display. The bike is nice, new motor, nice place for the battery. A low step bike will be my next bike. I am getting a little older, now everything goes fine, but swinging my leg over the bike in 5 years when I am 70 years old? You see for that reason a lot of older man buying low step bikes. In my country, The netherlands, a low step is often called a woman's bike. But that is slowly disappearing, there are also lots of designs in between. And the low step bikes are much stiffer then they used to be. A real modern bike in my eyes would have a belt drive. Although you can discus if a belt drive, which can not have a sporty derailleur, will be the solution for a dirty chain and lower live time. They will exist next to each other in the future. Thanks for nice vlog!
