Is the Auto assistance mode available on the T11 model as well as the C380?

I gotta say, this video has alot of talking out both sides of your mouth. "I don't want to discourage throttles" but the look on your face and the dismissive tone in which you talk about throttles like they're a moral failing says you do want to discourage their use. "Everybody can make their own choices" but you push really hard to try and make us feel that throttles are a bad choice. I've not heard any reasons here or IRL why throttles are bad or not safe or have negative impacts. I've just heard alot of bike snobs looking down their noses at throttles and trying to dismiss throttles essentially using the argument that "I would never use one, so you shouldn't either."

UL certification protects the consumer. I'm all for it. Regulating the speed or motor size however I don't agree with. Motorcycles go over 100mph easily. Cars/trucks go way over that, what gives on ebikes? I do not agree with these type of regs.

Why is there no throttle? Please help me understand the reasoning behind this. Gazelle doesn't have one either. I would think it would be nice to fall back on after a long ride when your legs give out.

The trouble with Ev's. 1. Range anxiety. 2. Explosion fears. 3. 60% depreciation. 4. Elon Musk's connection to Jeffrey Epstein. 5. Exploited Third World child labor. 6. They brick in cold weather. 7. Insanely high insurance rates due to repair costs and the liability of exploding batteries. 8. Insurance companies writing off ev's in a minor crash. 9. Ev battery replacement up to $60,000 or more. 10. Inadequate charging stations powered by diesel generators. 11. Non eco-friendly emissions in a fire and during the manufacturing process. 12. Ev's chew thru tires like a drunken sailor. 13. Tire and brake pollution. 14. Suspension failure. 16. Ev's chew thru brakes like a drunken sailor. 17. Pushed by the WEF. 18. No ability to charge EV if you live in an apartment. 19. Having to wait for EV to charge. 20. Charger point vandalism. 21. Collapsing electric grid cannot cope. 22. Lose charge range in cold weather. 23. If the manufacturer goes out of business, now you have to junk your EV, because it has become worth absolute zero. 24. Absolute nightmare to put out EV fires. 25. Electrical, electronic, and software problems will leave you stranded. 26. Toxic gas vapors from EV explosion will kill you. 27. Not suitable for road trips. 28. Rapid battery degradation over time as miles rack up. 29. Ev's too heavy for crash barriers (guard rails). 30. All Ev charging is paid for with digital currency. 31. Copper thieves are targeting EV charging cables and wind turbines. 32. Ev's are causing double the road damage. 33. Gaslighting from EV manufacturers is pouring gasoline on the fire of EV rejection.

I bought my mother's Gazelle Citizen 3 years ago. A great e-bike. She used it on holiday's in the mountain. It has a 'mountainbike' feel. I use it for my daily commute. No hills, but plenty of wind. Saves me two work weeks in commute time every year :)

Great looking bike. Looks very similar to my R&M Nevo with belt and variable assistance. I would be interested in a comparison (not that I am thinking of changing anytime soon). As an overweight 64 year old I love my bike and as I live in the hills in the UK could not consider a non assisted bike. A different note Good to see you releasing content again. I particularly like your considered approach to transport. Cars are not bad, but we do need to try to separate the two modes of transport infrastructure for cyclist safety. This is particularly difficult in the UK as we are a small island that we were largely built for horse transport. But is Holland can do it then so can we. Keep up the good work.

Is it IP rated? The new Velotric Discover and Nomand models are IP66 rated with an IPX7 battery pack and is less than a third of the price of the Gazelle Eclipse! This is a dealbreaker if it does not feature such an unparalleled IP rating!

I’ve tried this bike out myself. I love this bike. This bike is an absolute serve. I have the previous Gazelle C380+ HMB. It’s so low maintenance. It’s my go to bike here in NYC. Highly recommend the Gazelle Eclipse which is the 2024 version of my bike.

The versatility aspect that you mention. Commuting, running errands, touring, hitting some lighter trails. This is what I wanted from my single bike and that's why I ended up with a Moustache Xroad 2 smart system. Does everything I want to do with my bike. This Gazelle bike is a really solid option! Glad to see you back!

I wish they would stop with the weird rack options, making it hard to swap out fenders and racks. Plus the batteries that have covers that are attached to the battery, make it harder to buy a second battery for longer miles, since you have to swap that cover too.

Nice bike, and I’m glad European brands are recognizing riders in the US want class 3 e-bikes. Could do without that proprietary stem though. Ones that feed cables and hoses through are more difficult to work with when you need to replace one. Looks more sleek, but at a price. Edit: I forgot to say it’s good seeing an ebike review from you again!

As a bike shop owner you will know the answer to this. I think it could be a great video to make as well. You mentioned in this one that the Enviolo adds around $500 to the price but has less maintenance. What are the maintenance costs for eBikes across the different drivetrains? I've got a Rohloff for 4 years now with zero drivetrain costs since and 8000 miles. What would a similar derailleur eBike under load cost to keep up over 4 years?
@lukasgeukens4822Күн бұрын
Say you would use this specific bike in the video, it uses the Shimano 12sp drivetrain. In my experience these chains and cassettes just get demolished by using a 85Nm motor. We see chains and the lower three sprockets on the cassette go in less than 2500 miles. Obviously this depends on how well the rider cleans and lubes the chain as well as shifting to an easy gear before coming to a stop and not letting the motor torque you back up to speed. Also a more wet climate wil put more wear on the drivetrain due to road grime. Say you ride 8000mile. That would be at least three chains and cassettes and at least one, maybe two front chainrings (maybe five chains and two cassettes when the chain is replaced at the correct wear mark) You can use lower end replacement parts as I have never noticed a difference in durability when it comes to Shimano. Lets say you use the following XT cassette: 160$ XT chain: 70$ Bosch Chainring: 60$ Shop labour:... Your Rohloff hub should have a great life span (oil change should not set you back more than 100$, maybe a paper seal, another 20$) however the Enviolo hubs do wear out at around 18-20k miles on class 3 bikes with a lot of torque and wil need to be replaced as a whole. We see gates belt drive sprockets go between 9-12k miles and belts last a bilt longer when the sprockets are replaced before they cut into the belt.

I’m sure it’s a good bike, but I don’t think Gazelle bikes should be that bulky and ugly. It doesn’t fit the company image in my view.

To each their own. This design has won awards, so there is a group of people who think this looks stunning.
@90210blackman2 күн бұрын
Yes, I agree. I’ve got limited mobility in my right leg following a motorcycle accident back in ‘89. I currently use a non electric Brompton and because of the low stem I find it a seamless affair when dismounting. So when I placed an order for the low step model I was advised by the shopkeeper that I may struggle to get off the high step model. The low step model is really ugly and it’s a shame that Gazelle don’t do a mid step model which is the best of both worlds. Easier for disabled people like me to dismount and more appealing on the eye. Considering its eye watering price it’s a shame that customers don’t have a greater choice of frame sizes.
