So the small poppy clip at the beginning was part of a song they released as a joke for their fans. The drummer had a baby so they took off for about a year. When they came back they told their fans that since Nao was a mom now they couldn't be heavy anymore and were changing their style. They released only the poppy song for about a week before finally releasing the full song. Another fun fact, the drummer is the older sister of the guitarist Ryu 🤘😊🤘

There is actually a different version of this video with a pretty much full version of that cheesy pop-song in the beginning. Yes, they actually recorded that! As far as I know it was as a prank after drummer Nao had her baby and they were coming back like "yea, it got us thinking and we changed our style a bit" and you get a full on cheesy mainstream j-pop song for like 2-3 minutes until the video changes in what is the beginning of this video. They like to do shit like that. And I love them for it! Such an amazing band!

Maximum The Hormone are one of those bands that you can't put a label to, yes they are mainly heavy metal. The thing is Japan is not like the west when it come to labeling music, the the west you have metal the sub categories and then sub categories of that then a bit more sub categories. In Japan it's more like a sliding scale of rock and metal, where some bands don't really move around the scale, some do a bit, some do a lot, like Babymetal, SiM, Aldiuos plus others. Then you have Maximum The Hormone that just go any where on that scale, even within the same song at times. And personally I think that is why Japanese music is taking off, it allows the artists to be more free on what they want to do, they are not confined to a sub category, something which I blame on the music industry, whereas in Japan they have, more or less, been left alone by the music industry. If you want a song where you see how the crowd is at their concerts, try this one. The video is a comp of some of their live concerts with the MV in the top corner, so you can see why the crowd are doing what they are doing. Also the rough translation of the song is cow sperm, (spoiler) may help at the end. And the pics are of them when they were young. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4bIg5yGrs95fpY

The title of this song is actually "maximum the hormone". Small Kimi no Te or "your small hand" is the song that came before this, which you saw a glimpse in the first 2 seconds of the video.

Chiisana Kimi nonTe (Your Little Hand) is actually great pop song in a style familiar to fans of J-Rock. You heard only the last few seconds of it here; I recommend you seek out a complete version. They all sing, and Nao-san has a featured vocal. The song you actually heard is called Maximum the Hormone (yes, the as the name of the band). You might have noticed the dancers were pregnant, tying into the motherhood theme of Chiisana Kimi no Te. Ramen is featured prominently in several of their videos, in part because MTH endorse Nissin Cup Ramen and provide the music for some Cup Ramen TV commercials.

Apparently not the worst choice to listen to MtH for the first time. Gaz, you seem to have a superb taste:-))) I've got to be honest: I'd say all of their stuff is as crazy as this one tune here; MtH always bursts of creativity, it's insane. And definitely all their songs are massive fun, and they usually have a special twist in their lyrics and plots ... but I can't decipher the hidden message(s) of this song here, by no stretch of my imagination, sorry. Hopefully some other folks can do better ... BTW, I checked out two videos of yours respectively This Dying Hour, "Cornered" and "Fire and Тhe Blind", and I enjoyed what I heard. Great musicianship and skills of all band members, lyrics with a deep meaning (as far as I understood them with my poor english capabilities)! Your vocals are on spot, in a convincing mixture of harsh and clean tone, the visuals and the show are reduced to the essence, centered on the music, never overblown (thats what I like particularly in the case of many japanese bands, too). Kudos!
@fightrashovar45783 жыл бұрын
Two more bands you may like are SiM (Silence iz Mine), a pretty popular metalcore/punk/reggae band from Tokyo region, founded 2004 and still active, definitely influenced by MtH, but less "radical" and so more consumable for a broader public; don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean that they were bad or boring. Maybe their biggest hit was "Killing Me": kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKq4foyPmJ2frrc (Nemophila's drummer Murata Tamu did a cover of this song together with the tiny guitarist and vocalist volcano Shiena Nishizawa [a talented anime-songwriter and performer], it's kind of funny: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKazlGN7q8d8pNU) Some days ago I diiscovered the crazy alternative and artsy metalcore rap band Paledusk with their quite new song "Wind Back"; I don't know anything about this band except that it's worth to spend some time to hear and watch their sick song and video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYXXe6V-bK6kr5o And: please don't forget neither the second metalcore rap band I suggested some while ago, Choke with "The Human Anthem", nor "Devil Within" with "Flames of the End" and MergingMoon with "Greyen" (both bands with female screaming/growling champion Yu a.k.a. "U"). So far, have fun!

@berserker25513 жыл бұрын
MAXIUM THE HORMONE is a very special band. Many bands don't do anything new and don't stand out. Instead, MTH has created something unique. They combine quite a few genres like Extreme Hardcorepunk, Groove Metal, Nu Metal and one of the most important elements of them: avant-garde metal. It's what gives MTH its essence. It is also quite unusual for all members of a band to sing even some choirs. They are very good instrumentalists and the bassist is considered one of the best bassists in Japan, with how difficult it is to stand out in Japan for the number of virtuous musicians there are... It's a very nostalgic band for me because I started listening to them when I was 13 years old, it was my best year of life and at that time I didn't know it. I entered the world of metal, anime, martial arts. As a result of that, many decisions are made today and I am very grateful. Today I no longer feel the songs as much as I did when I recently discovered the band. I used to spend long nights listening to his songs with my headphones turned up ....... Over and over I repeated the same song because I was not afraid of her I have literally listened to his songs so much that I have not burned them, I have disintegrated them XDXDXD To be honest, MTH's golden age is over. The last album is not very good, it is not bad but it shows that they are no longer them. That essence that characterizes them now has disappeared and remains a mediocre copy of what they were a long time ago. I do not blame them, because each time one is left with fewer ideas and what to do ............. I guess we better stick with the best they did and remember their legacy :) Greetings
