@1989ry05uke4 жыл бұрын
"Yoshu Fukushu" sort of means homework, because the song is about Ryo's school days, but they intentionally spelt it wrongly so it means "Pre-attack and revenge". So he's singing about how he was bullied at school because of his appearance and wants to make revenge. But in the last mellow part, he realizes that living with anger is tiring so he decides to spit out all his anger in this album and forgive. He doesn't care if it doesn't resonate with anyone or if it doesn't make money. He just wanted to spit it out and never talk about his past pain again.

Don’t mind me. Just here rewatching all your MtH reactions yet again. And every time I watch this one I love how Alan says he’s feeling kinda emotional towards the end. Cause yes somehow they bring the feels in this one. Even more so after you read up on the lyrics and what the song is about. Also can we just appreciate how incredible it is for a band that’s usually so humorous to be able to bring the feels? And in a song that goes so hard for most of it?! One of the reasons this is my all time favourite song 🖤

If I remember correctly the story behind this song is that Ryo, the guitarist, had found out his wife and gone to Nao, Roy’s sister and the Drummer, and asked for help with Ryo because he had the mind of an 8th grader, due to having a lot of interest in comics and other, what some might consider juvenile interest. He then wrote this song, which basically professes that he’s happy to have the mind of an 8th grader. Or something along those lines.

I think you're thinking about "Koi no sperm" (another great and fun track). The way I've understood it, this one is about bullying. Ryo was bullied in school and this song is about the different emotions that put you thru and how that formed him as a person. So you were right to trust your instincts, this is a more serious song.

Where is the bassist? xDDD Did you get rid of him? ahahahahah "No bassist were hurt or injured before the recording of this video" Btw he nailed the pronunciation of "Yoshu Fukushu", well done! But he kinda fucked up "Kawaii", the i sound is prolonged. Nao there doesn't do growls, she just shouts normally. She and her brother (the guitarist) are the one doing the "shout" part. Also the weird timing really caught you off guard, but once you listen to it more, it really feels more aggressive. (For the drums part, Nao first hits both crashes, and right after the hits crash2 (right hand) and the snare (left hand). It feels unnatural but that's what Nao usually does every now and then. That's her way to contibute to the song) About the song: This is probably one of the most sincere / serious songs they ever put. Sure there are some jokes here and there but it's definitely something very serious. This title song means "Pre-emptive Revenge" and talks about how Ryo wants revenge from his childhood. He was getting bullied for his weight a lot, but thru rock and metal music he fought against the "people" who bullied him in school. Sadly in japan schools, the bullying gets very difficult to deal than most of other countries. (Also that's why the video was shot in a school). So yeah, thanks to his guitar and his music he was able to become who he is. That's why at some points there's the "Go fight" with the imagine of a brain (supposed to be Ryo's brain), to fight his way out. (Also funny enough he calls them "motherfuckers" when Ryo at the beginning starts to talk rapidly)

Fun fact about that heavy part in the beginning: It's not off-time at all. The only thing that throws you off listening to it is the break. Usually we expect to hear the riff starting on 1 after the break but what they do here is they just don't play the first part of the riff and simply pick it up at a later point. Try counting 1-2-3-4 from the beginning, keep counting through the break. It's very simple really. It just throws you off because it's an unusual way to go about it.
@NewAeonWarlord4 жыл бұрын
they pick it up at 1 AND I think.

Ok this is the cue I needed to remind you to go for BABYMETAL ! You were wondering what the hell Kawaii is and you've added BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) to your list. Well, BABYMETAL pretty much invented Kawaii Metal. I love MTH but time to expand your horizons my friend, you've opened a world of treasure music from Japan lemme tell you :). I'm also anxious to make you discover bands like Band-Maid, Ladybaby, Lovebites, Galneryus, Ningen Isu, X Japan, Dir En Grey.... But start with BABYMETAL and stay on topic of Kawaii :). Cheers ! Also, a little tip going forward : Pausing is alright but try to go back a few seconds each time to not lose the flow of the song... For example, right after the drummer starts her scream at the beginning would've been nice to go back to it especially after talking about it, cutting the flow ;).
