GB01 Mini Thermal Printer - Using it on Windows - iPrintUtility

Demonstration of the Portable Mini Thermal Printer commonly sold as GB01 which can be found all over Aliexpress and Amazon using a custom made windows software.
Recorded and edited on March 2021, sort of forgot to upload it afterwards :(

Update regarding the PlayStore app: It got better. However it still unnecessarily connects to the internet. If you have a way to block it from the internet it's a quite decent app to use now.

Try turning off mobile data and WiFi when using it. App complained but it worked also firewall it if needed, I do that with questionable permission apps. Also a lot of those mini thermal printers are going from iPrint to Tiny Print (same developer same exact app for the most part but different name). Newer thermal printers using it as well as some full size letter paper size printers using it.

I use one of these little machines for an interesting reason. I make large print labels for a visually impaired person. A label maker that is "Certified by" [name a medical or advocacy organization] for/of the blind and visually impaired..... The machine is almost $200 USD, one roll of waterproof continuous printing tape is close to $10 USD per roll. It prints two or three rows but no formatting tools (no centering text for example). How I get it to print edge to edge landscape, I enter text in a photo editor flip it landscape, crop and save it as a JPEG. Also I make sure to keep the aspect ratio. I am tinkering with your windows program to see if I can do the same without it cutting off the sides. To put it in perspective, my thermal printer was $17 USD on Amazon I got 20 rolls of black on white background continuous thermal paper for $15 USD and 20 rolls of black on frosted for $17... Yes it's a toy but even a toy can be made into a tool.

Hi. I followed your instructions but it still will not work on my laptop. Do you maybe have a newer download? I hate using my phone for anything but to talk and take pics. I do everything else on my laptop. @@Mywk

the hp is about 2 yrs old. I looked at bluetooth and computer properties but don't see anything telling me what what version it is. @@Mywk

@@billiebI've compiled a more recent version, can you give it a try and report back? Make sure bluetooth is on, the printer is on and within range and then you can scan (takes a while, it's a Windows problem not much I can do) mywk.net/downloads/iPrintUtility_b101.zip

Hello, is this program compatible with the MXW01 printer? Looks just like the one you show in the video... I can't seem to get the software to locate it and this laptop definitely has the Bluetooth LE Enumerator

Nice. I bought a couple of these for Christmas presents. The software is truly terrible. Though for mine (same device) it is called "Fun Print". I believe Android has printing now so in theory, a driver should be possible.

I have this different printer which i cant find any detail about in the internet so the model name is YHK-7F60 the bluetooth from my pc recognizes it but the app doesnt any fixes?

First of all, grat work, that's exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with my printer. It works whith the app WalkPrint and it's the model A31. My bluetooth, from my computer, recognize it but not your software. Can you help me ? Thanks in advance !

i modified the code to print on the MX06 however it really didn't work at all, when it prints it simply displays black blurred tickets, i don't really know if it has something to do with compatibility

Processing PDFs would be a bit overkill for this small project, I usually just take a screenshot of something and paste it there when I need something like that (WIN+Shift+S on Windows, select, and paste it). The code icon basically just inverts black and white for the portion, at least with my tiny printer it only works with big text. Thanks by the way!
