GBA games on the Retroid Pocket 5!

I know I'm going to play a boatload of GBA games on this thing and I am not ashamed to admit it. This video is a showcase of what we already know, sure, but that doesn't mean it's redundant! On another note, I haven't seen a device (let alone TWO devices!) with so many different android/linux/emulator devs working on it at the same time, I'm unbelievably excited for the future of the RP5+Mini. These things are going to play EVERYTHING!

WonderSwan will run perfect on the new Odin Portal because it has a 120hz screen and WS is 75hz, I'm guessing it'll stutter on the RP5

Grew up playing the GBA. I know this device is overpowered for GBA but who cares, I love the GBA! RP5 is truly such a delight. I should probably get it.

Joey, I hope you're doing well. I have two questions: When you use Drastic and do your external controls for the Retriod, do you get this bug where if you do the retro layout? (where A is select and B is back), the B button also selects and backs out at times? When I play Ds games, it follows the Nintendo layout I made, but the Drastic menu controls are a mess even Y button selects too!! :( My last question which version of Yuzu did you use for the RP5 video? I have the RP4 pro and want to Mario kart too lol Thanks for always helping us out!

Hey, I don't use Drastic, I use the MelonDS DS core in RetroArch, but that bug exists on all devices I've seen. It was Sudachi.

GBA is just peak retro gaming 😙ok you sold me. i already know i'm gonna hate the dome switcherinos but i can't not give this a shot. and if I hate it as much as I hate the TSP I can always sell it. and how good was Drill Dozer. A new series entry on the Switch would be nice.

@@franciscobutte yes, the OLED really is the star of the show. D-pad up top and tighter PPI would help too. This machine seems better at retro than my Odin 2.

@@modestyblaise4167 Oh yeah. I had an Odin 2 then I bought a Steam Deck OLED.. I think that the RP5 finally will be my little retrogaming machine and leave the Steam Deck for newer systems. Now I look at the Odin 2 between these two. And what I really don't get is the Odin Portal. I would say to people to just get a Deck in that case.

@@franciscobutte Maybe, but it does come down to whether PC gaming is important. The RP5, the Odin 2 and the Steam Deck are all at different price points, all 3 offer great value with different target objectives. The Odin2 Portal hasn’t been released yet and while it does seem expensive, we’ll have to wait and see what it brings to the table.
