Thanks for all your help ! I did all the checks you mention and everything seems in order to the naked eye . I think I’ll just have to invest in another ghk mag plastic feed lips but over all way more consistent and just a better magazine in my opinion. I’m gonna tear apart the magazine completely tomorrow and see if maybe I’m missing something internally or just putting it back together helps! Can’t tell you how many times breaking it apart lubing all the o-rings and putting it back together has fixed it! I really appreciate you actually trying to help me with this problem !

You are very welcome and please keep me updated on how it goes. I know how frustrating it can be, I myself was having some doubts if I did the right decision switching from AEG to a gbbr. When I started there weren’t many videos on KZbin I had to learn everything the hard way through trial and error. I wouldn’t want other people to go through the same thing, I’d rather have them enjoy their gbbr’s are as much as they can.

Thank you, the xm177 is icon but mine is actually not an xm177 it’s a MK18 I just made it look old. I love that about the AR platform, you can go from old school to new school easy and fast. Take off the carry handle slap on an optic take of the Plastic hand guards out the RIS hand guard on from knights armament and switch the old flush hider to a modern one. That’s how I have 3 load outs with one rifle Vietnam special forces 90ies delta force And todays modern load out. That might be something to think about, since you like that built.

@ Matthew Jordan I’m sorry to hear that you are having feeding issues I know it’s a pain. Two things come to my mind especially with GHK mags. First maybe your feet lips are too tight so you would have to file down the feed lips a little bit in a 45° angle. Another way of saying it would be widen the feed lips just a little bit with a file so the bbs comes out easier don’t overdo it though. Ghk mags especially the ak variant are notoriously too tight. second maybe your feed lips broke, that Plastic piece likes to break it’s a hair thin line that goes down the middle by the feed lips. Essentially it’s splitting open so when the spring pushes up the bbs up it widens the feed lips causing a misfeed. I hope that makes any sense to you. If not please ask and I will try to explain it in a better way. What you can do to fix that, you can superglue it you could use JB Weld and put a thin plastic piece over it as well and that will ensure that it doesn’t split open again for a some period of time. you can also buy new plastic feed lips or you can buy aluminum feed lips but that is for GHK only. Please keep me updated I would like to solve this issue with you

That a tough question to answer because it can be so many things. Let’s start with the magazine Check your feed lips and make sure they are in spec not chipped or maybe they are too wide now to where the bbs is sitting higher then normal and it pics up 2 BBs instead of one The spring that’s pushing up your BBs is maybe weakend and isn’t pushing your BBs fast enough upwards into to the right position. Depending on your weight of BBs. You can try to load just a few BBs and see if you get a jam. If it’s a brand new mag you just bought the mag should have still sat on the shelf for years. Or if the spring is new maybe try lighter BBs I go up to 0.49g so the spring has to push a lot more weight then just 0.20g and if the irate of fire is high that could impact it. Now to the gbbr it’s self, make sure that by the barrel extension by the feed ramp when the bb gets pushed into the hop up chamber that the hop up bucking isn’t obstructing the BBs path up the ramp. If you take it apart it be the easiest to check. Take the barrel off and then gently with your finger push the bb up the ramp into the hop up chamber and see if the BBs is getting caught somewhere. If you barrel extension is aftermarket that could mean that the feed ramp might have a different approach angle. It might be steeper or it might be more slope. Your HopUp bucking The ones made for gbbrs I don’t like especially from maple leaf the suck they break easily and also can cause easily a jam. I use the ones for the vsr10 it has to be fitted though. The funnel in my opinion is very important to the BBs sits just right in the bucking. That’s from the top of my head also make sure your bolt carrier travels far back enough because the nozzle stay in its place as the bolt carrier travels back until the nozzle stop and then the nozzle gets yanked back retracing into the nozzle. That take time and if you short stroke your bolt carrier too much the nozzle your travel far back enough as the bolt carrier is returning into battery and causing an mis feed.

where did you find the steel barrel extender / feed ramp?

Great question, I didn’t I bought the MK18 and m16 Vipertech used and the guy give me a bunch of stuff with it. I believe it’s a z-part or prime stell barrel extension. Depending on your hopup unite and buking it might are might not work. The ramp is pretty steep and in my case it doesn’t reach far enough back. There is a gab between the bucking and the feed ramp which caused me misfeeds. The bbs would should up too high and then get mangled by the Boltcarrier and the hop up unit. Keep that in mind it’s very important. That part if you google it you should be able to order it from Taiwan.

I see them people do widen the mag lips for the ghk mag. Maybe it is common problem for ghk magazine

@babu bablu you are absolutely right about that. the ghk ak mags, brand new feed lips are the worst form the ghk brand. hard to load mags and it gives you miss feed issues. but once filled down they are holing up pretty good. its the pmag and the GI mag that have the biggest issues with the feed lips.

@@TomiHarley I have ordered too from Pablo Vilo Ferrero via FB. They were sent from Spain to me in the UK a couple of days ago but still to arrive. The consensus is that they work exceptionally well. Can’t wait for them to come , I have a couple of cracked feedlips on my V1 G mags which I am not bothering with replacing. I am changing my V2’s before any issues arise as I use them more due to the weight saving 👍

Great question, I haven’t seen that dramatic of change in efficiency, to be able to notice it. I’m sure it’s there is a higher gas consumption. also to keep in mind i use the devils mod, using co2. Since co2 has higher psi output energy the power to weight ratio to is bigger then with green gas. If some one is using green gas you might be able to notice easier the higher gas consumption. An other reason why I don’t notice a difference is because I run my mags only once and then I fill them with new Co2.

@DC yes thats exactly what you want to do this way you have a bibber capacity to fill them up with co2 and if you were to get the co2 mags do the devils mode and only fill up that co2 cartage. viper tech are a lot of fun the only thing is a let down and thats their bolt catch its tiny compared to ghk I have broken a few of them already when the heavy steel bolt slams up agains the catch.

I clean it every time when I come home from a game. It’s absolutely unnecessary to do that however I love taking it apart cleaning everything and putting it back together it’s somewhat relaxing. Also checking all the parts for wear and tear and it creates somewhat of a deeper bond with your GBBR. What I would highly suggest especially if you’re using green red or black gas clean the inner barrel each time because those gases have some silicone in there and it’s smudges up your inner barrel.

@Jin Yoake, ohhh man that sucks I know how you feel, been there too. my GHK sometimes jams up and puts a dent on my plastic nozzle, so far i have been lucky with that now breaking but it can happen. thats the sad story of the gbbrs, when they work they are like a dream and when they don't its like a reoccurring nightmare.

@@TomiHarley I ended up sticking a hi speed bolt and a h buffer into it which sorted all the jamming issues out. After loads of research this seems to be the most common malfunction of the MWS due to a wobbly nozzle coupled with NA/EU BBs being just that much larger than JP BBs. It's only like hundreth of mm but that's enough to jam us up.

My bad I should of been way more specific it’s actually not my ghk mag that has feeding issues . I know you run viper tech which is WA and I run a WA based gun a king arms but it’s one of my G&p mags that is have feeding issues and I have three in total and the other two work perfect but i should mention they have metal feed lips . They would be closer to your stock viper tech mags ! I do have a ghk mag that was feeding in proper and I did do the super glue fix with that one and it worked . But back to the G&p mag it double feeds a couple times a mag and it loses drastic power about half way through the mag like I’m talking range of ten ft but the first 10 shots are normal and feed perfectly I’m honestly stumped

About your G&P mag Do you lose power right away when you fill it up. My thought is maybe the magazine is leaking. If that is not the case check out the rubber seal on top that meets with the nozzle may be that is slightly ruptured. Maybe the spring and the output valve is weak causing it not to close correctly or maybe it’s the rubber seal around the output valve. Or maybe there is some thing in the magazine in the tank where the gas is inside maybe it’s filled with something so you can’t fill it up all the way which I think is highly doubtable. Maybe your green gas bottle is almost empty try to fill up the other mags and see if the same issue happens but again I don’t think that your green gas bottle is empty. I’m just thinking loud and going through different kinds of scenarios what could cause The huge drop in power. Maybe your input valve is broken, it could be some obstruction not letting you fill up your mag to full capacity. Going back to your original question about the misfeed. I would inspect your feed lips even though they are metal compare them with the perfectly fine working mags maybe it’s dented a little bit.Load BBs in the broken mag and good mag, then with the screwdriver or a push pin tool gently apply pressure from the back to the BB pushing it out as the nozzle would and see if you have to apply a lot more pressure to the broken mag if that is the case that would indicate that the feed lips are bent in words if it comes out way too easy that would indicate that somehow they bent out words which I highly doubt. Another thing what could be is that the spring with the follower gets caught inside the mag and is not pushing the BB all the way up only halfway that could cause another misfeed as well. Let me know how it goes.

Hey man, I just got my first gbbr and after a few games it started having some issues. It just stopped firing bbs and released all the gas out of the mags. Can’t figure out what it is. Used multiple mags n the same happens. I’m assuming is the gun. This happened to u before ? Awesome video by the way.
