MWS Failure to Feed Malfunction

Looking at a really common MWS malfunction and fixing it live at the range. As with all things Airsoft there's always a variety of causes for any issues and not everything can be fixed so easily.

I had that problem for whole last summer. I still used it quite much and it broke my nozzle. (up and down movement broke it maybe?) I thought it was to blame, but I got my replacement during winter so I couldn't test it properly. now I have played with new one, it worked a bit better, but still jamming time by time. I also tested new bolt that I bought used, but it still didnt work all the time. My friend figured that gaskey(?) is to blame, so I just ordered two new ones. This video just made my day. Next week I am gonna have my MWS back in the game!

Also had issues with the Angry gun gas key that comes with their complete bolts, for me it was hitting the hop up adjuster and would progressively turn hop down with every shot, changed it to a G&P and that resolved it for me.

Hey @ollie. So I’ve had misfeeds from day one really and to be honest I wasn’t sold on this advice but you clearly know your stuff so I thought I’d try and when I checked I noticed my gas key was actually dented on the flat face it strikes against. I bought the hardened ones from GM and I’ve had a whole day of trouble free running today. My MWS has never worked better - thanks!!

My high speed set up on the MTR16 works flawlessly with the G and P lightweight bolt.

I recently changed front ends on mine, however going from a HAO barrel setup back to a stock one I forgot the oring that sits between the barrel and brass spacer is only meant for the HAO barrel. This resulted in the hop chamber sitting slightly further forward, causing inconsistencies and accelerated wear on the nozzle guide/gas key. Started getting misfeeds and figured out what was going on. Bought a GM nozzle guide to match the GM nozzle so hopefully no problems.

Are you going to be getting the EMG CGS Series Noveske Licensed N4 Gen 3 Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifle by CYMA? It is TM MWS compatible and I was curious on if you would be getting it to compare and see the difference in quality.

Hi ollie i have brand new mws and its very low on power mags fine tryed a different bolt and nozzel im and it functions normal any idea what could be the issue as only shooting around 250fps all is stock and gas route is sitting perfect could this be because of the nozzel valve

Had the same issue with mine, but the gas key was ok, the feed nub under the bolt face was slightly bent. Had to heat up slightly and bend back to straight but good now.

My suggestion for the stock marui bolt is to change all your feed lips to the t8 feed lips. They stop the bolt getting stuck in the chamber!

I've tried them but have also had some feeding issues but that's the thing everyone is kinda different with this stuff. I'll do a proper bigger video where I cover all the options. But changing the feed lips is also a good one.

Hello ollie. Abit of subject. Have you done any more hop upgrades to the tm akm? I've put in a pre order for the akx and was wondering i need to invest in some parts.

I also have an AKX now, id just the bow master spring and upgrade the hop nub to a BavTac so you can use heavier BBs and get those accuracy and range gains.

Do you know what brand BCM handguard he was using? My guess would be angry gun or a real one. Although I've heard real BCM handguards don't fit on the MWS even after rethreading

Hi Olliem does this malfunction tend to cause gas venting on full auto? Both my guns aren't working in full auto for some reason, and on different magazines as well. No issues in semi though.

Replace the large o ring buffer that sits on the back of the nozzle inside the bolt, search for the DP green one, that'll likely fit your issues.

Either turn the hop up on a bit more. Or you can move the mag back and forward in the magwell to see if it's happening in a certain position. You may need to put some tape inside the magwell to shift the feeding position

yeah I had to re-thread the lower receiver. its the same threading but a different pitch of thread like U vs V, just a different shape.

I think it's as much as buying a whole new MWS. its cool but very expensive, probably would be the most recoil you could get so it may have to be saved for at some point, more likely ill look for one second hand but I haven't seen any, which probably means people that do have them, like them.
