Longplay - Quest for Camelot (GB) english / no commentary

Just an older playthorugh of the GB game based on the animated movie "Quest for Camelot". I did this one a while ago (2009). Thought it might be interesting to some.
Only later did I learn of the crystals which you can collect in each level. I did NOT collect them all in this playthrough.
This is a pretty much blind-playthrough, and I played it all in one sitting, yet also occasionaly using save states (I die two times still).

I remember going into a toy store one day, and finding this, had never heard of it, but it looked zeldaesque, so I bought it. It turned out to be an amazing game, except for some major flaws. I couldn't figure out how to beat the last boss, but years later, through internet, I found out there was a simple trick. Very satisfying to finally beat the game! Never played it since

Wow, really cool to finally be able to see the rest of a game that I missed seeing as a kid due to it being too difficult back then. Never made it very far into this game and I also remember that those blue robed figures in the castle scared me so that probably didn't help aha

Same for me! I struggled getting through the castle and kept dying. I couldn’t figure out how to defeat the blue ones without losing health every time. I finally managed to clear that area, only to get stuck at the place where you have to ride the horse against a strong wind :( I kept feeding it those carrots and it still couldn’t make it all the way through the wind. I tried for years as a kid and gave up. We didn’t have internet back then lol. Finally found this video in 2023 to see the rest of the game!

I have this memory of the time when I got this game when I was a kid. At the store, some other kid said that this game sucks and not to buy it. he said "all you do is walk around and collect chickens and that's the whole game". But I was skeptical of that, and decided to get it anyway just to prove him wrong. Probably also because it looked alot like zelda. But it did take me a long time to actualy figure out how to make it to the first castle and I was pretty amazed when I did. never could get far though, game was too hard for a kid to beat!

Despite the cutsey graphics, the game is actually pretty difficult in many aspects. I myself had trouble beating it, too. It's mostly because Kayley is so big and the hit-detection is not that great to begin with. Still it's not a BAD game. Just not on the same level as Zelda4 or FFA. ;)

Zelda 4 meaning Link's Awakening? That was the first first game I ever layed my virgin eyes on as a kid. I remember watching this older kid play it on the bus circa 1999. Gameboy was the fucking shit back then. If you brought your gameboy to school, you could attract a crowd of like 5 kids around you watching you play pokemon yellow lol. Zelda Oracle of Ages & Seasons were also amazing when they came out.... I want to play FFA, I'd never heard of it back then

Yes, Zelda 4 = Link's Awakening. One of my first Gameboy and Zelda games, next to Link to the past. But I liked Zelda 4 more still, it might the humor and weirdness of the whole game. Very surreal (for a reason). I didn't hear of FFA, too, but because it was called Mystic Quest in Germany. ;)

I got so close to the end when I was a kid. The fight with Ruber, possibly second phase. I loved the movie, but obviously never figured out the way to finish Ruber, if I even got to that phase.

This is quite "inspired" by Link's Awakening, to say the least. It has some personality of its own though, like those screen transitions that trick my instincts into preparing for a random encounter... Also, I can't hear the sound effect for obtaining items without instantly thinking of the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde theme. In any case, this game looks about as good as I'd expect a Titus game to be. After seeing this game so often in game stores, I was curious what it was like. Thanks for the upload! :]

I got this game as i kid very early with my Gameboy Color. In the beginning I liked it I just thought it had some flaws. Then when the game got boring I bought Zelda DX. Oracle of Ages/Seasons did not exist yet. I never looked back to this Game. Zelda has everything this game has, just better. Even though I played this game a lot, I simply don't like it anymore.

Not gonna lie, when I played this game as a kid I had trouble with the castle and I thought there was no way out until I’d approached to the right and saw the yard of the castle and looked the big arrow pointing up so I had to use the hookshot and after that it was all easier, as for the Rutgers fight, it was so difficult and then the final fight I realized there was no way to beat this guy I realized that it was based on the movie so I bait him to hit the sword and that was it LOL kinda feel proud finishing the game without searching on internet.

I never made it further than this 27:10 as a kid. Like, how the hell should a 6 year old understand, that you need to use the grappling hook at the arrow xD I just kept playing in the castle until the sword was max level

Schon seltsam, dass man noch mehr Items hätte finden können, wobei es mich frustriert hat, im ersten Schlossbesuch an den Herzcontainer nie herankommen zu können, obwohl ich auch versteckte Kellereingänge gesucht hatte. Obwohl ich immer alles abgesucht hatte, konnte ich auch nur fünf oder sechs Fragmente freischalten... Ein Kritikpunkt ist jedoch die mangelnde Abwechslung beim Soundtrack; wie bei Morrowind gibt es nur vier oder fünf verschiedene.
