@@wardropperwhy wouldn’t he? He’s older than I am and I remember how Margaret Thatcher spoke of her position on Europe and that we as a nation should never be taken into it, only that we should be friends to them, deal with them but, always be apart from Europe as we have always been, she was a strong no nonsense leader that went to war legally with not a second thought and won against the Argentines for the freedom of the Falkland Islands. It’s a legacy he has no chance of living up to or ever being compared to.

*_Nigel supports the Russian war in Ukraine and Israel in Gaza. Farage supports injustice_* . Nigel Farage’s stance on NATO’s expansion and his criticism of Western policies have shown sympathy toward Russia’s perspective, effectively lending support to its actions in Ukraine. Likewise, his defence of Israel’s military operations in Gaza, under the banner of security, overlooks the injustices faced by Palestinian civilians. His positions thus align with actions that perpetuate suffering and inequality in both Ukraine and Gaza.

@maureenrobinson1105 Farage is lying, he was not denied a place. The laying of wreaths by Parliamentary leaders is governed by a formula put in place in 1984 with the agreement of The Queen and the Speaker of the House of Commons following discussion with party leaders based on the number of Westminster parliamentary seats. It stipulates that only the leaders at Westminster of parties which had won and taken up six or more seats at the preceding general election should lay wreaths. If Farage et al do not know this they should be nowhere near politics! Furthermore why didn't he get his photo op by laying a wreath in Clacton?

@@martha.m.g HOW DARE THEY STOP NIGEL Your comparison with Harris lacks substance and offers vague discontent with liberal elites, rather than a specific, critical argument. You rely on populist rhetoric rather than engaging with the issue directly. As for your beloved Nigel not being allowed to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph, the event is reserved for leaders with at least six MPs, current or former government officials, and representatives of major organizations like the British Legion. Farage no longer holds an official political position, so his absence is in line with the established protocol. This is about respecting the tradition of who gets to participate in state-led remembrance events, not about suppressing patriotism.

It is disgraceful that the political party that represents 4.1 million voters was not allowed to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph yesterday. Clearly, the establishment were desperate to prevent TV images of Mr. Farage taking his place amongst the "great and good" on such an important and solemn occasion going around the world. Fair play to the "Telegraph", however. Their video coverage lingered on Mr. Farage watching the commemoration from a balcony at the Foreign Office (I think). If only this was the only comparison we could make between Churchill and our current Prime Minister. In truth, Starmer is not fit to wipe Churchill's boots, or those of many other PMs.

An absolute disgrace That FARAGE was not included. He is more significant than the Liberal Party and now, perhaps more significant than the Tory Party. It all goes to show that Britain is now, neither a just nor a fair democracy and a public apology for oversight should be extended to Farage immediately!!! The Remembrance parade was superb but was ruined by its obsession with what the wokes call "inclusivity!" it is about the military: not anyone and everyone who deems their little group worthy of donning an uniform. I am surprised that there was not a contingent of the "LGBarmy" and its' camp followers!! ALSO!..... Might it not have been, over the years and even now, a right idea to include those who suffered as prisoners of war?? My father howled like a demented dog in his dreams until way into his later years as a result of 6 years in 8 stalag camps and the forced march from Alexandria to the first camp in Poland!!! Torture??? How stupidly naive the public have become in this awful and totally unprepared century!!!
