During WW1 my grandad lost his brother and cousin within a few weeks of each other, during WW2 my grandad signed up to fight for his country, he was sent to Asia where he ended up in a Japanese prisoner camp, my auntie recently found a photo of him in the camp and it’s heartbreaking to have an image of him in such horrific condition! Thankfully unlike many he made it home where he lived a happy life, had 4 children and 14 grandchildren.
