Eamonn says Trump should not be allowed to run for president. I believe Eamonn shouldn't be on breakfast tv as he's too miserable, but that's just the way it goes.

Just read your post and listened the Eamonn piece on Trump…….bet he’s eating his words now Trump has won……great news. What right has Eamonn got, he is a right one and who is he to judge anyone. Again great that Trump has won.

The ladies on GBNews all dress tastefully. Perhaps they could give lessons to the Government’s front bench ESPECIALLY Angela and Rachel. What a sight they are. Hurts your eyes.

What a terrible outlook Ben has. Basically he’s saying you’re old, you don’t need money, how disgusting. The pensioners have paid for their own pension throughout their working life. If the government had put the pension percentage of NI aside as it was paid, which is what should have been done then the money wouldn’t need to be taken from the tax contributions of today. I wonder how Ben would feel if he was given around £800 per month to live on. Some pensioners still have a mortgage to pay. I think maybe Ben would feel better if there was no retirement age and people work till they drop. Better still stop moaning about how much is paid to pensioners and get rid of all the illegal immigrants, immigrant prisoners and those seeking asylum who don’t need it.

Too many pensioners gave no importance about their future finances. Instead they spent all their money during their working life. Did they REALLY believe the state pension was going to be enough to live on? (By the way I’m a pensioner who knew I’d get old one day therefore planned my finances accordingly)

Some pensioners may not have had the ability to make extra provisions for when they retire. Have you ever thought that many may have been in and out of employment, through n fault of their own. There’s also the people who have worked hard all their life but the jobs have paid merge wages. Yes they may have spent all their money over the years they were working because maybe they were living from pay cheque to pay cheque just to keep their head above water.

You must always remember that everyone’s circumstances are different. Things are not just black and white.

@@debrafincken9702 I bet there’s many more who could have planned but chose instead to “live for today” then expected the government to give them a comfortable lifestyle in retirement. I actually worked with people who chose not to join the company pension scheme, they’d openly say the government will have to look after them.

@ I agree there are people with that mindset, but what about the companies that didn’t have pension schemes for their employees and low income families who don’t have enough disposable income to invest in a pension. Sometimes unexpected things happen to people which have an impact on their potential to earn money, this then impacts their ability to invest in pension schemes. For instance, I split up with my husband when my youngest was 3, not my choice. I brought my kids up on my own, worked hard to provide for them, bought a house, concentrated on my kids and my career. At 47 I started having issues with my hip, by the time I was 50 Id had hip replacement surgery. I suffer from abnormal narrowing of the spinal canal. 10 years on I’m waiting for both knees to be replaced. I suffer from fibromyalgia and a number of other health issues, I did not expect any of this. At 50 I had to cash my pension in to live of it and pay my mortgage. When I reach pension age I will only have the government pension to rely on. So you see like I said not everything is black and white and not everybody should be tied to the same brush.

If you are going to deride the Royal families fiscal responsibility shouldn’t you first find out the facts. The Duchy of Lancashire is run by the Lancashire Council with a Parliamentarian as head of the Council. The Duchy of Cornwall is overseen by the Treasury and they approve all expenditure. Neither the King nor Prince of Wales have access to the capital, they receive the interest on the capital. Both Duchies are fully audited and the results publicised each year. Both the King and the Prince of Wales pay income tax on all monies received. Also, the King gave £250m to the Treasury from the wind farms on the sea beds last year. As to swearing, vulgar, vulgar, vulgar. I was brought up to believe it showed a lack of imagination where your vocabulary is concerned.
