I wonder why MP's, and people who aspire to be MP's, have to leap onto their keyboards and post messages on social media which are offensive to other people? As has happened in this instance, these have come back to bite them and I suspect they now wish they hadn't done it. They would be better off concentrating on the job for which they are paid instead of spending time on social media commenting on the actions of others.

They are just trying to stamp out family owned buissneses to pass onnto corporations who obviosly dont have inheritance tax! They just have new directors who rum the corporation! These farmers need to work out how to turn farms into some sort of compnay ?

It has been done before - aristocratic estates have been turned into limited companies where the Lord owns effectively nothing, pays a nominal rent for his accommodation and is paid a wage for his work for the company. Look at Chatsworth Estates Limited and the Earl of Leicester's place at Holkham - Coke Estates Limited. I'm no accountant but surely there are alternatives to selling off land. Companies do not pay IHT.
