How would he handle the intense media hostility that is always shown to Nationalists? If you've never seen it, you've lived under a stone. Look at how Nick Griffin was destroyed on BBC's Question Time about 15 years ago. At that time, the policies the BNP were putting forward were little different to Reform's current policies. Farage changed the Overton window since then because of Brexit. Thanks to him it became acceptable to be against immigration. Before this you were labelled as a 'racist' for doing so. Farage is skillful at deflecting the MSM smears - which is why he is reluctant to support Tommy Robinson or remigration. Had he done so in 2016 the media would have seen to it that Leave lost the referendum. Once you push for ethno-nationalism the media routinely label you as a racist or Nazi, and the voters have always been scared off by this. However much you prefer Rupert Lowe's policies, he is an unknown entity when it comes to handling the media hostility. It would be a miracle if he could take the heat and dodge the smears like Farage does. If Reform lost Farage the whole bridgehead that Nationalism has gained in Britain could be scuppered. If people keep attacking Farage Reform could be fatally damaged and the Uniparty would be the beneficiaries.

@BitOfABrit16 күн бұрын
@gameofender4463 Some that dislike Tommy or his views may indeed be more likely to consider Reform, but it might not necessarily be a net gain. If people that support TR get sufficiently riled they may question whether they wish to continue supporting Reform. Now would that be self defeating? I certainly think so, despite my disliking how Nigel has handled this matter Reform remains the best vehicle for smashing the Uni-party consensus and restoring the power to the people. "Less extreme" isn't necessarily going to be a crowd pleaser with people that are already members though, since a party born out of the desire for radical political reforms necessarily must make a significant departure from the status quo. Otherwise why bother? Ideally Nigel can just avoid discussing Tommy if he has nothing nice to say.

When she was describing why Tommy Robinson won’t ever lead the UK I thought for a second she was describing Donald Trump. The now most successfully democratically elected Western leader in modern history.

Really! What have you been watching! Many many more successful politians than Trump. Thatcher and Blair each won three terms! Regan won more than 50% of the vote! And just have to look at Europe for even more successful politians. Trump blew a hole in the American deficit increasing it by 25% and is a convicted criminal... Yup you must try to wake up

Here’s the thing… a large percentage of the British have spent thousands of hour listening to/watching the likes Graham Norton, Chris Evans, Jonathan Ross… whoever their present day equivalents are… I find them insufferable… Butlins may be a harmless enough thing and though Farage is definitely intelligent and shrewd, he’s just too “Hi di hi campus!” He appeals to that sensibility; Rupert Lowe has more gravitas. Lowe needs to get together with people like Rafe Heydel Mankoo, Douglas Murray, Paul Thorpe, who are semi outsiders but have a lot of influence and can reassure a lot of people.
