First, let me say I appreciate your videos. You are the reason I went with the March Serpentine kit. I figured this out today on my 88 Cutlass and thought about this video. My system is slightly more intact (still has factory relay), but I had to jump my green/black wire on the factory relay to the solid green wire (2 solid green wires but both worked the same). After I did this, I followed the steps below. *Using the multimeter, insert red lead into the green/white factory connector with a resistor and the black lead into the black (4:16). *Take the single green/black wire and insert it into the solid green side on the weather pack connector (4:22). *Turn on A/C and check for 12V. If you don’t get voltage, you may need to insert green/black wire into the green/white side of the weather pack connector. This should allow the factory pressure switch to control the compressor cutting on and off when desired pressure is reached. You also can check for a bad pressure switch by using a paper clip or wire and jumping the switch (9:36). Also, the larger square connector with red wire is your main power from the fuse box so that will need to be connected as well (7:31). Hope this helps!!!

some of the plugs went to the old ecm. the plug you plugged in for your a/c also goes down to the starter wires run from the left side of the bulk head that plugs into your fuse box. great video bro.

@@derrickbosley8889 Man thanks for that because my high speed is intermittent...went and pulled that plug and inspected it...it had minor corrosion and one side of the connector was dry-rotted so it was loose...took That side apart and re-terminated the ends and now it's solid!!! Yo SSBoi, i'm dealing with the exact thing like you do. I'm kinda trying figuring it out myself. My question to you is where did that single light green wire come from? was it just dangling in your harness? On the 86ss i'm working on the only light green wire i can find goes to the low pressure switch on the dryer then comes back out and goes down the airbox and plugs into the connector you showed that was unplugged in your video. Heads up to you and this video. The comments along with your info might just solved my issue.

I appreciate you watching bro!!! It’s been so long ago I honestly can’t remember where that wire came from
@draysgarage88772 жыл бұрын
I don't know if you have it figured out yet. But I would use the green wire from the black connector. Also I believe if won't get 12v till black connector on the dryer sends it.

If I’m correct that double plug is for the compressor it should have 12 v when ac is on but it won’t because the green one goes to the low pressure switch and supply power to the compressor harness

the plug with the resistor on it is the ac plug. I believe that other green wire is the high pressure switch for the ac. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 keep up the grind
@87SSBOI2 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro!!! That's what I was told the one with the resistor is the for the OG hookup on the pancake style compressor...not sure exactly where the other green wire came from but that's what gets power when the a/c switch is engaged so I'm thinking that's what I hook up to my single wire system

About the green wire that gave you power every time you turned on ac switch, wouldn't that give power to compressor even when not enough freon in system? Wouldn't we still need the pressure switch to send the power? IM CONFUSED
