NO Air Flow from Blower Motor on my G-BODY HVAC system | Resistor | Relay

No Air Flow from Blower Motor on my G-BODY HVAC system...I went thru the entire system replacing components such as the blower motor resistor, blower motor hi flow relay, Blower selector switch, etc ONLY to find out there was a disconnected cable coming from the cigarette lighter harness 🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

Thank you so much for this video! My wife has a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass G Body with no a/c and we live in Florida. She thinks that the blower motor is working because she can feel air coming in through the defrost vents. However, there is no fan blowing either. So this will help in diagnosing the problem, as we are the 8th owner of this vehicle. Also, even though I know this is unrelated, I got to laugh at the Walmart battery. I've had some auto store mechanics try and slick talk me into buying their more expensive batteries by downing the batteries from Walmart.There are only about three battery manufacturers that mass produce car batteries for every retailer in the U.S. When I had to get a new battery for the Oldsmobile, it still was under warranty from Auto Zone. However, the three guys working there, plus the one on the phone, had tried to con me into believing that the date on the battery was not the date it was filled, but the sell by date.

Appreciate the content bro! I was having the same issue but my solution was different from yours. One of the connectors on my blower motor was corroded. I hit it with some wd40 ( thats all i had on hand) and a fine piece of sand paper, put the plug back on and it kicked on immediately!

Hopefully you find the issue...also there's a harness under the hood I forget the name of it but it has 4 wires...2 green, 1 red and 1 black...if that's not connected then it won't blow either

My man, I'm dealing with the same thing.....nothing is working. Have an '83 Regal T-Type that I replaced the AC/Heater with just the Heater box for more room for an LS swap. I'll look and see if that's the problem bc I had all those wires out and loose replacing the switches also.

No problem…I honestly just kept it propped open with a small box until I was able to hook up the vacuum lines to make it open and close as it should

It was the relay but it could be the AC harness under the hood…it’s a 4 plug harness (1 red, 1 black, and 2 green wires)

@@87SSBOI Okay, I saw a video on someone doing an El Camino, that center panel pops off the same way. But like you, I have to "Prop" that flap open just to get the air blowing in the Center, that is after I trimmed some of the Rubber off of it, it's like the Rubber was melted on the front caused the flap to stick. Anyway I am going to assume that the center not functioning is because I don't have the A/C System setup on this car yet. Other Modes like Vent, Heater, Bi, and Normal seems to circulate from the top and bottom according to HVAC system diagrams.

all your vacuum lines are disconnected from your control the doors will never work properly until you fix that also looks like your vacuum bubble is missing under the hood you will have to fix that too

Good catch!!..my old headers melted the ball but the main focus in this vid was to get the air flow coming out the dash vs defrost and figure out why the blower motor wasn't coming on...1 thing at a time to get to the ultimate goal🦾💯

I went relay, resistor then i found my problem, its in the switch i believe, i pulled the back off my switch and the pin all the way to the right is burnt looking, i have a few spare switchs im gonna try, man that's a bitch that's unplugged, worse thing about OBC's is every one done been in the dash fuckin shit up, i have a 93 s10 and it pretty much the same as G body on hvac, good video brother!! Hopefully i fix my shit today, getting cold out

That happened to a civic I bought they said ac didn't work I removed the radio and ac unit and found a plug just like that disconnected I was like wtf plugged it in and ac worked like a new car. Strange who would disconnect something like that maybe a shady shop

Yea there's one more cable you can check under the hood...it has 4 wires going into it...2 red, 1 black and 1 green...if it's damaged or not plugged in that it won't work

@@87SSBOI Finally figured it out Bro it was the blend door pivot lever arm that broke and that’s why it was blowing hot I bought a blower control switch changed the relay and the resistor plus put a new blower motor .The only thing is it won’t work on the highest level. I put a wire strap on the door to keep it blowing towards me but it’s blowing super cold now I appreciate you and that video keep doing your thing my brother you’re helping ppl like me out 💯🙏🏼❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

@@87SSBOI mines isn’t coming on at all I check to make sure that brown wire was connected which it was. Then I went to the blower motor when I ran a wire to the battery the blower motor still didn’t come on. So I ended up running both a power and ground to the battery the blower came on. But so must not be connected I’m getting no power at all through the purple power wire and looks to be that I’m not getting a ground either this thing is a headache lol
