I bought this game on release but refunded it because netplay just wasn't working. Now becuase of your vtuber vid that went viral I bought it again during winter sale and on god, it's so fun and pretty. Thx for reminding me it exists. Stuff having cooldowns is wild tho. I will now proceed to terrorize EU with Wi-Fi gaming. I regret nothing.

Even though what I write out below might seem like I either don't like the art style or fighting games, I have no experience with fighting games other than a few mobile ones and I'm from the generation that plays mobas and fps games and so dont judge me plz. I really love the art and the gameplay of Granblue versus and would really like to get into the game(even tho I haven't bought the game or played yet) which is also why I havent tried any other fighting games yet since their art or some other reasons kinda doesnt really give me that feeling. Been thinking about playing a fighting game for a few years now. Saw your cag vtuber vid around 1 or 2 months ago and wanted to try the game but there were three things that worried me. Although the game looks extremely fun, I was kinda scared of the low player count on the charts. Since I don't have fighting game experience, I don't actually know how it would be like to queue up or however people find matches in a fighting game. The second part that stopped me from buying and playing the game was how online people were saying that Granblue versus is just a discord server matching game and how it didn't have rollback(which obviously from this video it shows that the next game will have it so this part is solved hence why I said three and not 4 things. Finally, the last thing that kinda worried me was the way you find games in a fighting game as well as having friends who play fighting games. I know absolutely zero people who play fighting games(unless they havent told me) and Im not really good at socializing with other people. And this goes back to the low player count issue since from what it looks like, I'd have to know people :/. Overall, when Granblue Versus Rising comes out I might give it a try but I'm still kinda worried about queue times or finding matches as well as if player counts would shoot up in the beginning and then drop down quickly. Idc about getting destroyed by people who have played fighting games b4, thats just how life goes and I enjoy challenges as well as a good learning experience. Something I am curious about though, is what would be a concurrent playercount for fighting games that would be considered "not dead"? That is probs the biggest fear stopping me from getting into fighting games. Tysm if u or any1 else can reply, I don't really mind if I get ignored entirely, just how life goes I guess :(.

@@rustneko3467 Your concerns and decision to not buy the base game was valid and understandable. As for your player count question I would take Guilty Gear Strive's playercount as an example of a healthy concurrent amount for a fighting game (around 2k or more at any time). Fighting games may seem daunting to get into alone but joining a community that plays the same game as you do allows you to ease in really well even without socializing alot. Most of the time if any new players have any questions the community usually try their best to answer their questions to the fullest. Furthermore, GBVS atm is considered one of the easiest fighting games to ease into so anyone without any fighting game experience can pick up the ropes fairly quickly. @@MerpKun Do you think I should still get Granblue Versus before the next game cuz kinda scared since I dunno how the "queue" system works and whether or not I would be able to find ppl I could actually practice against(or bots). Also, how much of an impact does netcode and rollback have to a super new player? And the GBFV Rising only says 2023 so i how long would u expect that to be in?

@@rustneko3467 Some of us are speculating that if you already own the old game you are buying a "upgrade patch" for the old game instead of necessarily buying a new game out right meaning buying the game now vs buying the game later would not matter that much (same thing happened for street fighter 4 and street fighter 4 ultra) HOWEVER, this is not confirmed so If money is an issue I would wait for further news on GBVS Rising and how it is purchased. Otherwise, I think buying GBVS now is a good idea if you have money to spare since the core concepts, fundamentals, and character move sets from base GBVS will def transfer over to GBVS Rising and would give you a head start on familiarizing yourself with playing a fighting game. Base GBVS is also still an amazing and fun game to play!
