Nothing beats holding a book, the smell, the awesome cover, the pages.. Far more exciting than looking at it on a computer or pad, or phone.

personally, I find Manga to be lightyears ahead of American comics (this is a generalization). Better technique, composition, writing, artists, in every category. You can't say the same for American comics, which has its grass roots built up from Superman, which isn't interesting. Manga is part of Japanese culture. people of all ages and varieties read Manga because the format and style lends to tell more emotional and intimate stories.
@StumblingBlock19 жыл бұрын
I appreciate both manga and western comics. In my opinion, in terms of genres and originality, manga wins. In terms of complex/witty/political dialogue, western comics wins.
@KanemiX39 жыл бұрын
I can only partially agree with you on this. In term of composition I think both American and Japan are equally match. American comic has potential of their own and so is Japan. In regard to depth and realism I think American comic takes the cake; however, in diversity and originality, Japanese manga make the best out of it. American comic does have a lot of diversity too not as much as how manga does it. I honest love both but I genuinely grow more toward Japanese manga because it embraces diversity a lot. Japanese mangas not only explore outside their own culture but they were able to elaborate authentic indepth aspects of other culture. I was reading this manga about a runaway Turkish bride and I was amaze by the detail and accurate historical research they did on Turkish culture. Now you don't find a lot of comic like that in America.

I wonder how it failed. Just like with books, they should sell both. Like One Piece digital version is in full color (or even improved too?). Of course having the book in your hands is much much better, but sometimes reading it on a tabled/mobile is much more convenient and space saving.

As a comic book reader, I don't mind digital but it can be pain a to scroll or zoom in while reading. A physical one, you just bring it closer to your face lol. I read digital Manga before, same issues but I probably needed a tablet instead of using a phone all the time to read.

Hi guys, I don't know if anyone from the channel might see this but I wanted to ask if any of you may know if Yoshihiro-san is still ok? He used to be active on Facebook but hasn't been on in years. I managed to meet and chat with him back in 2013-14 at the Gundam Cafe in Akihabara because of this video. I kept in touch with him up until he stopped being active on FB a few years ago. If you know anything, please let me know. I just want to know if he is still ok, thank you.

the two pages is important to manga . but in tablet, you can only view one page in order for you to read. yes you can view it in two page but its hard to read thats why i like manga in prints.
@SaberStash5 жыл бұрын
The sad part is, print manga is continuing to die and decline and the Japanese industry still hasn't done a good enough of a job with digital serializations for new manga. Only as of 2018-2019 there has finally been a smaller wave of very successful online serializations that mostly started on some kind of a manga app for mobile or a web service. My digital favorites are Ojisama to Neko, Gokufushudou, Spy x Family and Mieruko-chan
