I'm a soldier in the U.S. Army and I just bought a 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat Crew Cab 4wd Fx4 and to be honest I'm freaking happy with it especially considering what I paid for it. Its 95% loaded as it didn't didn't have the panoramic sunroof, front facing camera, park assist, or the lane assist. Yet I still love it and its my first truck. You did an excellent review by the way and I do have the 3.7L TT eccoboost. This truck isn't perfect at all then again there's no perfect truck but to me it damn near close. Thanks for the awesome review and I look forward to you actually getting getting a sponsor as well as seeing your unbiased reviews from an everyman kind of guy.

I don't feel you're doing this truck justice. I've driven two of these, the 3.5l lariat and an xlt 2.7l. And this is a fantastic truck, super powerful, great mpg, impressive handling, and even an extremely likeable personality. Some people will always prefer other brands to Ford, but Ford is leading the way forward. They've been the best selling truck for 36+ years, and they know how to make a good truck. To anyone considering this, DO IT! You won't regret it, and if 40k is steep for you, you can get into a great one for 30k. Sorry to rant, but this is a great vehicle.

You're talking about a 3.5 l and a 2.7 l this video is about a 2.0 l so of course it's going to be different from the two trucks that you've already drove. Do you know anything about the truck he's talking about now are you just spit stuff out without thinking.

I couldn't be happier with my Supercab 2.7 ecoboost wth 4wd, I'm a grand dad and 90% of the time drive like one so I'm seeing better than 21 in town, live in the mountains of Southern West Virginia. Just helped my son move about 2 hours away, pulled a twin axle uhaul trailor loaded and the bed was loaded, it did great, he borrowed his girl friends grand dads v8 Silverado, loaded about the same with a flat trailer and I could run with him the whole trip. Saw 14.5 mpg towing, pretty much what my 2015 Tacoma V6 got, but way more power. This truck is so much more comfortable than my old Tacoma. Gets better MPG's and I got it for around 10k off sticker around 33 grand. It will get up and go from red lights and I think I've surprised a few RAM and Silverado owners thinking let me bust this V6. Trying not to do this as much. No matter what you hear this truck works really well, coming up in 5000 miles and I'm still amazed at its comfort!

good review very informative. one item to keep in mind on the bed being hard to access, you can get a side step there as an option to better access the bed from the side. i liked the comparisons to the other trucks, you did mention the smaller GM for 36k good to note to those who dont know that the Chevy/GMC Canyon is more comparable to the Toyota Tocoma and Ford Ranger (that may be making an appearance soon). Thanks for taking the time to make the video and I hope you can find a sponsor as your work is appreciated!

Ford stepped up and showed how excellent it is again, GM too is going aluminum, 3 years after the fact....This truck feels responsive, is super quiet, does get better mpg and is overall an excellent product. The 3.5L EB is for sure a very strong motor, love it. Whether a truck is your only vehicle or not is of course related to the individual, I love having this truck as one of my vehicles, it does everything I expect and more, efficiently.

A couple of points..... If the truck is too big for you and you want to be able to reach anywhere in the bed get a mid size truck. Also being that I own a 2015 supercrew I would never wish that the cab was smaller. Supercab and extended cab truck cabs are too small and require front seats to be adjusted with rear facing child seats and are not nearly as comfortable for anything other than a drive to the store. The extra 1ft of bed length I find adds very little to the usefulness of the truck. Really the only advantage would be shutting the tailgate with an atv in the bed and even that's limited depending on your atv. If you get 8 ft length sheets of material it still requires hanging over the tailgate or dropping the tailgate. The earlier model Ford you show in your video has a longer wheel base than the truck in this video. The turning circle is also tighter on these new trucks versus those 10-20 years ago. The ability to use the enormous back seat floor space for transporting different more delicate things is priceless when compared to a smaller cab and slightly larger bed. If the bed rail was shorter the truck couldn't hold as much in the bed and if the truck sat any lower it would not function nearly as I would like it too. I don't stand alone on this as I believe close to 90% of F150 purchasers go with supercrew cab. It may also be worth noting that more premium models come with soft materials on the dash and armrest. I personally don't care if my truck as leather on the dash as it provides zero extra comfort or function. The doors are comfortable where needed and when resting my arm on the large upper portion of the door when the window is down I never think to myself that it is uncomfortable or hard. Ford also did a wonderful job of making the door panel flat when the window is down. There is no windows seal sticking up into your arm and the surface is quite wide. There are some little things that are nice about the doors too such as the handles that allow you to hold the door while releasing it to open. I didn't realize how much I enjoy good opening control of the door from inside the vehicle until I hop into other vehicles and find my self having to open with two hands to control the door in tighter or my windy scenarios. It would be nice to see more reviews of how pickup trucks function as utility and hauling vehicles versus how car like they are. Seems most reviews these days on measure how car like they are. Lets face it if you are very concerned about fuel economy and car like rides you probably don't need the truck.

I have to say, very good review. I appreciate the knowledge you have while doing this. Just a question or maybe 2. The Hype!!! Just thinking on some people have missed the boat...maybe even you. What did you expect.? My take on the hype!!! A - Manufacturing is done completely different, even scavenging left over material and reprocessing it. "Aluminum" B - The truck is 700 Lbs not as heavy as it used to be. That has nothing to do with GM or Ram. It's what Ford was able to do. You indicated you understand the overall benefits of aluminum construction. Handling, braking, corrosion, several grades and improved body stiffness. New frame stronger better pay load and towing. It's like all the bling is there "Hype" but won't get credit for it. Manufacturing is cleaner, body is not Modular for ease of repair. That's all the hype...people just don't know it or give it the credit it deserves. Finally - Talk to the dealer and ask him what he would let the truck go for!!! Sales indicate 9-10,000 dollars on rebates. It seems no one wants to give it the true props it should have!!!

Just a note on that mpg, its an average number. So while you were driving on the freeway, reset it and for the first five minutes the number would be actual, then averages back. I know my Explorer '11 is set that way (you can change average times too). Mine has the 3.5 tri, low mpg miles ~17 (hot day in slow traffic) and high ~28 ( 70 degrees and 70 mph). You addressed some really important issues with truck height and cargo v passenger space in trucks these days. I understand your opinion on the cab and bed configurations but you can get the crew cab in a 6.5 foot bed. I know that makes it even longer and that's what you talked about avoiding. However the super cab rear seat is tiny and not as practical as you think. You talked later in the video about how the center console takes valuable space away but you're okay with taking almost half the usable space of the rear seat away? No way you're going to comfortably fit 6 people in a super cab. My final thought is if you have something you need to haul that's to big to fit in the 5.5 foot bed why would you not use a trailer? I mean honestly when is the last time you actually needed more then 5.5 feet? Like you literally could not fit everything you needed in one trip?

I have a wife, a 17 year old kid and a 90lbs dog. I am looking to get a pickup truck sometime next year 2020. I have watched your videos to try to see which would fit our needs best. The trouble is most all reviews focus on towing. My situation is a little different. My primary purpose is to haul the family and commute to work daily ( about 60/40 city/freeway) nothing extreme, and only about 50 miles a day round trip). The truck aspect is for the occasional trash haul, or helping someone move, or getting plywood at Home Depot for some project. With all that being said, I want the most comfortable room, best fuel economy, reliability, safety and price. What is your recommendation? Thank you..

I really like the F-150, but I agree with you 100% about the ridiculousness of the long wheelbase, high bed height, and oversized crew cabs. But we are in the minority my friend. To me a small extended cab with a shorter wheel base and a 6ft bed is perfect, or even a 5ft bed...make trucks shorter and more daily-driver friendly. I personally am looking forward to the new Honda Ridgeline because to me it offers much more usable bed and cabin, while still being able to tow something smaller.

May I ask what Americans in general thinks about the 2015 GMC Sierra Denali? I live in Dubai and I'm planing to buy Sierra Denali 6.2 OR F150 King Ranch. Your opinion will help me to make a decision. Thank you
@gcavy19 жыл бұрын
3BoOoDTV Denali is a nice truck, as is the King Ranch. I'd suspect you'd be happy with both. Given that you're in Dubai, just get the one with the best seat coolers! -Greg
@derpey1.2919 жыл бұрын
3BoOoDTV Personally, I like the Ford f-150 better. It's the best selling truck in America for 30+ years now. If you get the F150 with the 3.5, its blazing quick, with some 0-60 tests in under 6 seconds! You can always get the 5.0, it's not as quick, but if you're paranoid about that ecoboost, the 5.0 is the engine to get! Also the F150 has a 400 Amp power outlet. One in the front. (1 in the back I think.) It also has regular car charging ports. Either the platinum and/or king ranch have massaging seats in the front. Oh yeah, the seats on both if the trucks are probably heated and cooled. But if I were you, I would get a F150 with the ecoboost or 5.0.The Ford F-150 can haul a tad over 2,000 pounds and tow about 10,000 pounds. The Ford is also loaded with technology (if you choose so) like backup camera, 360 camera, cruise control, and LED side mirrors that shines light around your side mirrors. Also, the F150 comes with LED headlights (LED lights are brighter, good in sandstorms!) Hope This Helps! ~~Dan P.S. And if you want, could you tell us what truck you got?

Consumers' needs change with time and the truck makers are simply responding to the market. I'm in that 90% you speak of. I do occasionally pack the truck with lumber, drywall, etc. And love loading my mountain bike and ski in the truck w/o wiping them down. @kingdaniel351910 жыл бұрын
***** Why not? People've already become so lazy that the tailgate has to be dampened, otherwise they complain that it's just too heavy. I've owned and driven trucks for 30 years, and I've never wanted or needed most of the crap on these trucks now. Gone are the days when trucks were built for work. Now they are built for people to use as a daily driver so they can feel big. In the mean time, people like myself have been priced out of the market because we can't reasonably justify the payments on a $30,000+ truck. These trucks are nice to look at, but I'd rather shoot myself than hand over that kind of money for what is essentially a solid gold tool.

Hi greg, I meat that you took like a couple of months to upload a new review, the lenght of the vids have always been pretty fair for me, but if you want to make longer ones that would be nice too. I've always like to see how's the car market for regular people in the USA, too bad such things like a free market of cars and products don't apply in my country. To get a truck like that or even the cheapest version, you'll have to be a millionaire, but dreams about buying those are always free hehe! thanks for the reply and keep the up the good work!

I thought the Ford F 150 was an awesome truck I have one myself and let me tell you it is an awesome truck. This information was awesome now I know more things about the truck that I have. Once we took it up a hill and it did a great job. I think it's better than the sivlverado and all other pickups

trucks are not supposed to have soft touch feeling interior, its supposed to be hard and tough for being able to do work, it seems like ever review you watch they say that

I can see your point and that is true but im sure you can see my point, I just prefer hard touch and tough in a truck and soft plush in a car! but all in all good video

to the Ford vs Chevy guys, the companies are actually working together.

They should not sell Ford trucks to short people, that's what a Tacoma is designed for.

You can easily spin the wheels with the combination of lighter weight and the higher torque.

I keep seeing everyone now having the tundra at the bottom of their full size truck lists(aside from the current gen titan) but if you are spending 40-60k on a vehicle wouldn't you factor reliabilty and resale value into the equation more then anything else...especially on a truck? Personally I am glad that toyota sacrifices fit and finish, soft touch plastics and infotainment systems to offer what they are most known for....trucks that will last into the hundreds of thousands of miles instead of being lucky to get 200k out of it. You can only polish a turd so much.....
@gcavy110 жыл бұрын
Raymond Kiley I'm not entirely confident those arguments are actually true though...a quick search shows the Americans have excellent resale value, even at quite high miles. One factor is that there are also a lot more Big 3 trucks out there than Tundras, making the Tundras are little rarer on the used market (relatively speaking) thanks for chiming in! -Greg

rocky66 You make me laugh. The only research you have done is straight from a Toyota catalogue.
@RAULORTIZ1810 жыл бұрын
rocky66 go home your drunk! I drove a 2015 tundra as a rental and hated the expience full of plastic and a 5.7 that makes me laugh. I drive a 15 f150 and I bought the ecoboost not for economy but for the power. Toyota does set the standard it follows it. Just like getting a diesel just like every other truck and before you know it they will start using aluminum just like chevy has annouced.

All of the popular trucks need some real changes going forward. First, they all are too big and getting bigger. They need to get back to tow ratings around 8,000 pounds. If you want more, then get a 2500 series model. Reducing tow ratings allows lots of good things to happen. Using aluminum frames and suspension components is a must along with aluminum and composite bodies. All of the engines need to be seriously downsized with nothing over 4.0 liter. Standard engines should be around 250 HP direct injected and normally aspirated. Optional engines don't need to be over 350 HP and should all be variable vane turbos. Transmissions should have at least 8 speeds. Aerodynamics need drastic improvements. Shorter hoods with more slope coupled with greater windshield angles would be a good start. Sliding automatic rear doors on 4 door models(ala minivan) would greatly enhance loading items from diagonal parking areas. Adjustable ride height via 4 wheel air suspension(like current system on Ram trucks) would improve high speed fuel economy, variable load capacity and ride quality. Sto-N-Go rear seats on 4 door models that would fold into the floor would allow for much greater interior secured storage capacity options. Slide out rear bed extensions to expand cargo capacity on short bed models would be a real plus. What we are talking about here are trucks that would give snappy acceleration, great comfort and safety, be much easier to park, have excellent cargo capacity, tow 8,000 pounds if needed while being much easier to load, unload and get in and out of. Finally, they would get 20 MPG in town and up to 30 MPG on the highway. These are our most popular vehicles and they need to meet these design standards. My dream truck would be a 4 door Ram Quad Cab with a mild 2.6 liter pentastar twin turbo producing 320 HP coupled to an 8 speed automatic in 2 wheel drive with a carbon fiber body sitting on an aluminum air suspension chassis. Add an aero package that would include grill shutters, a movable splitter in front, retractable bed cover along with a 6.5 foot bed. Give me a dry weight of 4,500 pounds or less and I will buy one right now!

this guy sounds like he should just buy a car.. i personally own a full size pickup truck and have no issues driving around even in parking lots. for the box height its a styling choice i can live with. going from an older truck to a new model i defiantly noticed the difference, but it looks 100 times better so i can live with the extra effort taking things out.

Trucks are about size, V8 power and capability. Anything less is a minivan in disguise.

Ohhhh bubba i couldn't agree anymore with ya man thats why i love old trucks way more than any of the new trucks. The new trucks are just butt ugly on the inside and out but Ford has the better looking one out of the group, but no V8's beside the 5.0 if they even use that anymore.

Optimal: Fullsize extracab (max 5 adults IF you have such a need) with a larger bed with a LOCKING tailgate. ...Don't care about the damped tailgate. ...Hate the styling of the Ford head and tail lights and interior dash vents. ALL of the trucks could be better designed from an electrical outlet, data & communications, etc. POV., as well as suffering from consoles designed more for style than function. Similarly, resilient lined beds could stand dramatically better multi-tiering plus compatible tie down points and integrated LED lighting.Also, rear floors and seats should be designed to feature, or at least to accommodate, functional water/abrasion proof coverings.

Beware People. The new 2015 f150 are having premature warped dash issues. Many owners been having this problem including myself. And many of the trucks sitting on lots all over the country have warped dashes. Buyers beware. This is unacceptable for a brand new vehicle.
@Skfkf1393a8 жыл бұрын
15:29 wait what? GM has good interior? American manufacturers never had their interiors right since the 80s and GM consistently makes the worst looking, horribly aging interiors. I think Ford almost nailed it with simple lines. I do agree they should have used better quality materials for 50k truck.
