Great message, I think what's important to always keep in mind is that works won't save you. Works is the evidence of the faith that saved you, which is why james said show me faith without works I'll show you faith by my works.

Thank you so much for this teaching. It helped me pull together statements that appeared to me to be unconnected. This is why there's a gift of teaching in the church. Yes, the Holy Spirit is our teacher and sometimes speaks to us directly in our spirit to give us understanding of Scripture. But mostly, we need good teachers to help us get what we otherwise wouldn't; at least, I certainly do. And, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it when teachers bring in the full Jewish context of what's going on. This is so sadly lacking in much if the church but always a blessing of illumination to hear. Speaking of illumination, I loved how the song at the end spoke of "leaving the light on." One more thing. I very much appreciate you giving the exact translation, "the prayer of the faith given to him." I'm not an elder, but the Lord at times has given me that kind of faith to pray for a person who is then healed, so I know it does work that way. The Lord bless you.

Not sure we agree about the prayer of faith part and the answer being death. Jesus never used death and faith. He is our example.

So the books are not in order. I didn’t know. So James is not written for us as well? Only for Jews?
@ctspvideos2 жыл бұрын
There is a difference between saying something is written TO you as opposed to FOR you. All Scripture is God breathed and profitable TO you, but many parts were reading mail written TO someone else. Does that make better sense?

Calling James a half brother of Jude is probably a misspeak, correct?
@olopez858911 ай бұрын
Yes
@sarahlynn47903 жыл бұрын
How was James the half brother of Jude? This is a Catholic teaching and not substantiated by scripture. We are never told that Joseph was married before Mary. Jude and James were full brothers. They were both half brothers to Jesus. Not half brothers of each other.

@@Puddycat00 we are not talking about Jesus. We are talking about James and Jude. They are full brothers. Read what I said again SLOWLY this time, “they are both half brothers to Jesus.”

Illogical and historically incorrect statement.
@richardmclaughlin83452 жыл бұрын
@@houstonvanhoy2198 Historically incorrect? Absolutely! Scripturally incorrect, not a chance. Verse 1 puts it quite plainly. "To the twelve tribes in the diaspora." Those who had come to Jerusalem during the earthly ministry of Jesus and returned to their homes, being encouraged to remember the teachings and miracles they had witnessed while they were there. Overall, the thesis is irrefutable, for 15 years people have been trying to bury it but it just keeps on breathing.
