A brisk start with Arabhi, was enough to captivate the audience. The extensive Kamas, followed by the Swati Kruti and the subsequent Nalinakanti, Saramati and the concluding Swati Bhajan gave a unique feeling of joy, hard to put in words. Kudos to Vishnuji and his team members for this memorable kucheri. Thanks for the prompt upload onto the KZbin, one can listen any number of times.

A few rasikas raised the question of musicians starting with anupallavi. It is not new. Musicians of yesteryears used to do this. One example is MDR's starting wih anupallavi in the kriti Mokshama ,,,,,in a Gayana Samaj Concert. Lalgudi was on the violin. I was present in this concert.

Through most of the superb kamas kriti swarapratharams, the accompanists were taking turns to paly for the violinist - something one would expect in a classroom setting where one hears a swara phrase and then plays for it! A bit disappointing. But it did not take away from Vishnudev's excellent sense of raga lakshanam and laya.
