Hilux Discussion and FMS Hilux Review

After we discuss some evolutions of Hilux RC trucks, here's a brand new truck to us: The FMS Hilux model in 1/18 scale size! We were both impressed with the quality of the plastics, attention to design details, extras like separate door handles, and actual reflective mirrors, and much more! Been watching patina paint how toos for years. Been painting lexan bashers for 20+ years with cool results out of cans. I'm ready for a hard body, and this would be a great start 👍👍👍👍 Bought a graphite esav chassis from you on a forum marketplace way back. That chassis is still running over a decade later every summer at our bashplex lol.

Right on! Get er done with that Esav! hahah! I''d recommend these hardbodies for painting or patina. They are nicely made, and would take to paint really well. Happy trucking!

And yes 1983/84 was a cross over year for Toyota pick ups they like to refer to in North America. Hilux overseas 😊 but in my eyes there all Hiluxs. 👍👍

Oil filled shocks? yep - my pandahobby Tetra does and they're great. The FMS truck family are great, lots of flex, but jiggle a lot for my tastes

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check those out. I think the non-foam tires also cause a ton of jiggle.

@@GCMRacing1 just a note, I've had to use their 24th scale ones on my Arizona, as the 18th ones on the Bronco etc are much too long and too wide. The 24ths aren't as smooth, but still ride better than stock. 👍

Yes they are, although the 'scale' is not relevant. These are way smaller than those 1/18 ECX shocks.
