ASO were being far too slow to restart the women's TDF, but they can't expand the race to quickly - if the majority of the calendar is one day races and 3 and 4 day stage races with the grand tours a bit longer. If the TDF was 2 or 3 weeks it would make it really difficult to train for - would the teams target a once a year longer race or for the majority of the season? I hope the race grows organically, with a few extra stages added so that's avoided. Lets hope this happens though and the race gets longer - the racing is great to watch.

The producers of the femmes tour are terrible. They just cut away at all the wrong times constantly. Lets not see the riders cross the line. No lets see someone in slow motion for a minute instead. Or yesterday lets not see riders try and get away from the pack. No lets see air shots of the mountain. I'm sorry but hopefully next year it will be better produced.

How could the "experts" not go all for Marlen Reusser as the winner of stage 8? Yes, she did it again: Well done, Marlen Reusser! Impressive 1-3 by Team SD Worx in the TT! Congrats Demi Vollering for winning the Tour and Lotte Kopecky winning the points classification! It was a little sad to see Kasia Niewiadoma losing place 2 overall. But winning the climb classification was nice! Congrats also to Cédrine Kerbaol for winning at the young riders!

Great race, and what a shame seeing AVV blowing up towards the end of the race. Hardly surprising when she was smashing the giro whilst everyone else was preping for this race. She will be missed for sure. PS: Is it just me or is AVV riding in a strange position? Hips rocking, toes pointing, shifting in the saddle constantly... I wonder how much more could she push if the position was dialed in, which is rather scary. Still, she doesn't seem the type who would take expert advice on this...
@Tibovl
@Tibovl Жыл бұрын
It's true, her position is very strange. A bit block-ish, slow cadence, wide arms. But still she's always ridden like that and there's probably not much benefit to be gained by changing it so late into her career.

@@Tibovl Yes, she has clearly been having the results, even though it doesn't look very efficient. I'm amazed she doesn't get saddle sores either with that much much hip rocking. There's an Australian guy that does videos on fitting and such, and recall seeing one in which he specifically discussed AVV's saddle being too high, which resulted in the awkward look on the bike. @@mracer8 Becoming a better climber that is an Armstong explanation, anyway. Are there any excellent climbers in the women's peloton with the exception of Annemiek? What I mean is a climber such as Pantani who could destroy the GC contenders in the mountains. Back to the topic, Kopecky coming in second in the women's tour is no different than Cancellara coming in second in the men's tour. Both are unthinkable.

Until the women's tour is ridden on major roads and not back lanes, it will remain a 3rd class event. In the 3 weeks of the men's tour, I never saw as many team cars and motorcycles having to push through the peloton as there were on the 7 days of this event. This made the race far more dangerous than the men's race.

I’m enjoying the bike so far kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

Kopecky was in the slipstream of Moolman-Pasio only for the few seconds prior to overtaking her, what she immediatly did when she was close enough. This was a completely normal situation and absolutely legal afaik. It would have been a completely different situation if Kopecky would have taken a big effort to chase down Moolman-Pasio and then slow down to take a rest on Moolmans wheel and let her drag to the finish. Also, it is a completely different story if a rider is overtaken by an opponent and then stays on its wheel. This is because in doing so, you are profiting from a faster rider.
