Win number 35 was vintage Mark, showcasing his unbelievable skills against the best sprinters in the world. His win showed that sprinting is not just about power, but also about teamwork, racecraft, and experience with the Manx Missile proving he has all of those in spades.

I'm not British , just an Idiotic Australian. I've been following Cav's career since 2010 when I returned to cycling. His skill, his will and his bollocks have never been in doubt. But his dedication to achieve this 35th tdfv win have been an epic thing to witness. The moment between Cav and Vinokourov during Cav's press conference was beautiful. Two veterans. Vino believed in Cav and gave him opportunities when nobody else was willing to do so. Now Cav has delivered. It's a beautiful story in bike racing. Thumbs up to Vino for believing, and to Cav for doing the business

Hats off to Cav, what an amazing record! I read somewhere that Pogacar would need to win a stage in the 2036 TdF to equal Cav's longevity, which gives you some idea what a monumental achievement this is, particularly as Cav is a sprinter which is a discipline traditionally favouring younger riders. We seem to be in a bit of a golden age in cycling, with a great like Cav delivering a moment for the history books and fierce competition between Vingo, Pog, Remco, Rog, where the final result could go to any of them, and there's also amazinng classics riders like WvA, MvdP, Girmay, just an exciting time to be watching racing!

Dan - Thanks for staying in the office late to make this video. Fantastic. No surprise. At least these are the long days of summer and you may have returned home late, but still during daylight hours. Please let us in the GCN Community know how we can support the effort to get you and GCN back into a place where you can provide commentary on racing real-time. It may not be the TdF just yet, given other big-time media outlets' stakes. I'd be happy to hear you call some random lower-ranking race. It's all about cycling, big-time or grass-roots.

What the heck is Mark Cavendish going to do with the rest of his life? He's obviously the kind of guy who rises to a challenge, and then achieves success, no matter what. I hope he finds something worthy of his capabilities. A ton of people, (and organizations), could benefit from that. Sir Mark has made his mark, and I hope he does so again in other walks of life.

The level of grit and determination, in addition to the talent of course, to achieve all that he has despite all the bad times that he's been through is phenomenal. He's a true legend, and simply the best. Chapeau Sir Mark Cavendish, and chapeau GCN and Dan Lloyd for this fabulous tribute to him and his achievements.

The line…..sir Mark Cavendish’s Professional career started in 2007….is all you need to hear, because it’s now 2024, and he has just won a stage on the TDF again…..his 35th, and there is as far as I know, no other rider in this tour, who has such a celebrated and longstanding career….whilst still winning….still totally gobsmacked and in awe…👍🇮🇲👌
