The Division 2: Tinkering Changes! (2024 Beginner's Guide)

The Division 2: The Tinkering Station replaced the Recalibration Station in Title Update 20 on The Division 2. Everything remained the same as it was before but under a new UI with some major quality of life improvements. In this video we take a look at the new Tinkering Station and how it now works, and then I show you how you can use this whole system anywhere in the world without having to be at the Tinkering Station.

Not a beginners guide. You make assumptions that the player knows what it used to look like and how it used to work. "Here's the library, it works like it did before". How does that help a beginner? A Beginners Guide should explain the overall existing structure and how to use it in general which you did not do.

So a beginners guide series which takes players from their first steps into the game all the way through to endgame and everything else in episodic format is not how beginners guide work? You saying you rather have one video that is like 5+ hours long? I have been a teacher of many things in many jobs and bitesize information usually works best. Pretty sure I mention in the video I cover how the entire structure works in another video. This current video was made afterwards when they introduced tinkering from wherever you are in the world and this is what it covers. If you want the full rundown of Expertise, Recalibration & optimization it is in my endgame episode of the beginners guide. I appreciate it is a little confusing but thats why I am here to let you know this information is covered in another part of the guide. Just click my beginners playlist, click endgame guide and there you will have it.

@@GCROCK Yeah this one is a bit confusing. Not a huge deal but I'm clicking a beginners guide to get the info and then watch most of it to realize its got plenty missing. At the start you mention its part of a your beginner series (of which I have watched A LOT 🤩) but don't specifically mention there is a prior tinkering guide. I'm nitpicking a bit but its because your other guides are really well done and helpful. You are being held to a higher standard!

Why doesn't it tell you what materials you're missing when it says you don't have enough materials to recalibrate? Kinda maddening.

Iv'e just done a burner character and shared resource. Have close to 9999 of each and it's still saying i do not have enough material to recalibrate, enough of what? Dumb fuckupdate as usual.

It does. If you press the Optimise button again (X on PC) it'll have a pop up telling you what you're missing

again thats for Optimize no way SHD resource is used for recalibration that shit aint common and its gets boring to constantly farm for it unless if Ubisoft did do that then thats crazy. @@aspinnycracker

Man was having difficulties, with this Recal Station, also i was looking up videos from 3-7 years ago it looked different was wondering why i have not bee able to use it. Had to search if there where changes made in the Recalibration Station and UR video was at the Top of the search😁 Glad i found it. Being my first Agent to nearly finish the DC Story i still have a lot to Learn, i have not been able to fill up weapon stats as you showed here and i do have weapons, Gear of the same kind 3-4 on each, maybe not doing something right. Overall least i know now changes where made in the UI Thank you GCROCK.

For a beginners guide, it's a little out of order man. You go straight into Tinkering, when you cannot as a beginner until you have something in the library to use, which would be done first and foremost. I am a beginner and I had to figure that out on my own, so this video being a beginners guide, failed on that part my friend....

Beginner guide series, link in description for whole series. Pretty sure I mention this in most of these parts. Click that link and there are currently 20+ videos for beginners covering everyhing. This video was out of place because tinkering came after an update where I had already covered everything prior. This was just about tinkering away from the station as that what was new. I get what you are saying as you expect the whole tinkering station to be covered but this was already done earlier in the series in the endgame part.

So can you optimize an item multiple times? And with that same item you can optimize different stats as well or only that one stat you initially optimized?

Would be a hell of a lot easier if the items you have equipped appear at the top when you open up the tinkering sub menu's, and apart from being able to donate while outside of the BoO this is an absolute croc of shit that didn't need implementing.......all they need to do is test their updates before release and we're golden.
