Let’s hope I do well in this exam hoping for a pass but anything better I will be emotional 😭! Also can you write 3 mini paragraphs for questions 3 so 1 about the beginning 1 about the middle and 1 about the end . Also don’t know if i should use my laptop for my exam as I always end up not attempting question 5 as I spend too much time on question 1-4 !

Then start with Question 5 first. You'd rather run out of time for the other questions than Q5.

You can do your paragraphs on any part of the section given to you in the question, I did paragraphs on start middle end in year 10 mocks and got a high grade so I’m sure it’s okay !! Also I’d recommend starting with Q5 and going backwards, or ensuring you keep looking at the clock to time yourself on the questions !!

When im writing my question 3, I structure it so that I do 3 PEEL paragraphs, one on the focus at the beginning, one on the middle and one on the end. I also talk about other structural features at these points in the extract. Is this okay :) ( by the way I’ve been binging your videos today and they have been so helpful!)

You can do that too! I respect your teacher's feedback. I just think if you struggle to complete Q3 in 10 minutes doing 1 PEEL on beginning, another PEEL on middle and a final PEEL on end, the hack is combine beginning and end in 1 paragraph (add a beginning quote and an end quote), contrast it and voila... you've answered the question's bullet points and talked about the whole extract. ❤️

Grade 5 is super achievable - as long as you write at least an answer for every question. Ideally 1 PEEL Paragraph for Question 2 and 3; 2 PEEL Paragraphs for Question 4 and at least 3 Paragraphs for Question 5 - as long as you have a nice beginning, middle and ending in your story!

In future I think it’s best to start from the longest question and work backwards so you don’t risk running out of time on the higher mark questions. I unfortunately took a bit too long on the earlier questions and then kind of had to rush the 40 mark question.. not good 🫠
