Great! Plenty of intrigue for your players to get their teeth into. Good luck DM! Don't be afraid to kill off some players...

@@mrclokehistory lol thank you - the idea of an invading force upending the laws of the land and the resentment created by that is perfect for a source of tension in the world - it's awesome how in this period of history the Vikings, Saxons and Normans (who themselves were Vikings who were influenced by the Franks) all interacted - GCSE content is perfect for getting a good overview of a topic and the key power struggles - thank you for the wonderfully clear videos

I'd thoroughly recommend looking up the rebellion of Hereward the Wake (1071) and the Revolt of the Earls (1075) as good case studies of this sort of thing and inspiration, including the role of powerful women in the 1075 rebellion. I've recently released short Rapid Revision videos on both, so check out this playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PL9bgSdxfgbwqllgNeUe2DDjs82LwT9aOb

The Saxons had already established kingship long before William Conqueror which William used for his purposes in England.

Very true. Would you say that William extended the power of the king?

Perhaps

Perhaps the King was determined to keep the strong legal system he inherited, but also extend his power.
