If you left is as kPa, would that lose marks? Does it have to be converted into Pa because that's the unit for pressure?

There is something that confuses me, I think this only works when the variable we change is volume. If we are changing the pressure, as in a ballon, then the volume would increase instead of decreasing

Can someone help me with this question A gas with volume 100cm3 at pressure 300kpa is decompressed to 100kpa what is its new volume?
@bigboi88794 жыл бұрын
it's 300 cm3 Because pressure and volume are inversely proportional, when one decreases, the other increases. So, as the 300 kpa is decompressed to 100 kpa and 300/100=3, you will have to *multiply* 100cm3 by 3 which is 300 cm3. Hope this helps and correct me if im wrong.

if you're doing aqa the spec says: Students should be able to calculate the change in the pressure of a gas or the volume of a gas (a fixed mass held at constant temperature) when either the pressure or volume is increased or decreased.
@frankjames19554 жыл бұрын
SOmeone told me the formula for finding the volume of compressed gas in a cylinder .. P1 V1 =P2 V2 ... i have no idea what this is but i think there is a much simpler formula.. either P x V / atm.. or (P+atm) x V / atm .. as i contunue for days to find the answer i get alot of conflicting information .. as if its a matter few understand properly
@icyyyy37342 жыл бұрын
It’s just this pv constant equation basically if they give you two volumes and maybe one pressure or vise versa you can use p1v1 = p2 v2 just inserting the values and solving
