My teacher told me you can blend oil pastel with baby oil on a cotton bud, it really helped so anyone reading this it makes life so much easier 😂

I finished my GSCE in April & I know I have fucked it up, I was gonna through a rough patch through my exam and dear god I failed it completely, I haven't got my grade yet but I'm so worried. Due to being in a bad place I just winged it & did some random shit, which I'm gutted about because I enjoyed art so much at the beginning, I did a similar thing to you, the natural form we also did &a yours is beyond stunning compared to mine, your layout is perfect on every page, I quickly stuck all my stuff in so I could go get lunch pahaha. I'm only commenting this purely so if anyone watches this & is thinking about doing art just please don't waste a minute, don't let people get in the way of your exams because nothing I regret more than rushing through my GSCE because i was trying to talk to my friends & laughing my way through it. I think my coursework it self went well but a 9 year old could have done my Final piece ahaha. But wow your work is truly beyond words! You have such talent, you 100% deserve that A* ❤️❤️

Now I see it. So you have to be a critical, venturing observer that creates eye for detail, the subtle colour changes, the highlights, and you go talk about it and show what you like and dislike about it. What genre you get or pick is where you have to find information of and orientate yourself in. Like, study colours, themes, shapes, etc.... Well, it's quite hard to explain, but our teachers in secondary school seem to prepare us for this one, because we have to learn to be critical, observing, variation, show expression, and take value in what we do. We have to give our opinions and our personal look on it via the way of technical/given education. It's like, you're preparing all of these smaller assignments for a bigger exposition for the public to watch. And you are becoming the teacher/exhibitor/seller who has to explain these people what you're working on basically, why and with what media/ideas as attractive as possible to get their interests. In our country, we call this an OC (Research Competence -> More theoretical research) or GIP (Integrated Trial -> More practical work on the research/collecting useful documentation for set-up)

I'm sure you'll be wonderful and my advice would be to do as much as you can in the lessons and do it to deadlines and by the end of exams you won't be having to rush back to past lessons to catch up and you'll have 1 GCSE out the way so you can focus revising on other subjects! Elliejoones Some more advice also: If you are allowed cut pages in "cool" way, stick different materials on the page and rip it (makes the different papers show). Write loads about what you feel, whats going right and wrong. Do studies on artists say why you like it, and what this will add to your work! Lots of your own images and find second hand ones for extras. YAY! I'm getting my results soon!

Krystian .C I’m in yr10 at the moment do gcse art and geography and I have to say art is one of my most stressful subjects due to the workload and geography in comparison is fairly easy , I would say most is quite easy to grasp and is often common sense. You don’t have to use paints however you should as you get higher marks for use of varied media. Hope that helped x

Thankyou so much and yes the thing that helped me most at the end was making sure my sketchbook was up to date so I didn't have to go back and finish pages that I had left undone. it seems simple but a lot of people in my class found it quite hard to catch up and it also gave them less time to perfect their final boards too! +lana prot throughout the year spare time wasn't much of an issue. It was just like any other subjects but towards the last term it took up the majority of the first half of exam season but then it was lovely to get it out of the way so I could focus on my other paper exams! That was definitely one of the best things about it as you finish art GCSE earlier in a way. Thank you again and I'm sure your artwork will be amazing.
