as a kind of arty kid, there’s actually some decent stuff here (excluding the Japanese people phase, that was... strange haha), the Eiffel Tower idea thing you did actually looks awesome :) it’s great you’re sharing this even if it isn’t like the regular “here is my A******** art book” vids, nice to see someone just relaxed about and happy with their work even if it doesn’t follow the marking criteria perfectly

i did mine a month ago and honestly it turned out pretty great. if you have an idea of what you’re doing you’ll be okay :) in 30 minutes you start to get into the groove and without knowing you just did 10 hours of art

I had to do that and it goes really quickly since you get in the zone. It’s much better than the average 1h45m exams for like English and maths. I have to do a 15 hour one for a levels but it goes really quickly so don’t worry!

I'm currently in Year 9and doing Art GCSE. It's kinda different now... We have a theme that we stick too for a set time and all your art has to be similiar to that theme. Currently doing pop art and I'm so happy we can do anime characters soo 😂 We also have to research certain artists and do responses to that. We even have to do a certain amount of pages for every deadline in the themed course. Jeez it's changed 😂

It's already a term into year 10, and i'm thinking of switching to Art and design (Edexcel). How does everyone find it? I know it's stressful, but I might want to study design when I'm older. How is it? At GCSE? A lot of work? Hard to pass? Is it hard to catch up a term of work?

For me personally I prefer to use smaller sketchbooks, the larger ones are so hard to fill in and show so the smaller the better so you can pay attention to detail

I just went into Year 10 in September and I am so glad that I didn't choose GCSE Art! My art teacher (last year or the year before) told me that the exam was about 10 hours long for your final piece but it is stretched over 5 days (so you have 2 hours a day) and I was like "bish nah, I'm lazy af byeeeee" n yeah

I got an A in my Art GCSE. This was 8 1/2 years ago. My final was set to a strict 10 hours max to spend on it. (I remember rushing the last 30 mins on the background, which was a grey sheet). I did a still life with a fake human skull, chopping board with knife and various rotting fruits. Used gouache paints. Originally would have been fresh fruits but I was homeschooled with tutors and did some of the hours before a week long holiday. Didn't want to move them so weren't so fresh on return. Gave it a death feel, what with the skull and knife (which I added fruit juice to to represent blood) It looked great and it still looks good to me now. I'd say I didn't get the A* as my prep was sub-par. Planning, thumbnails, explanation, etc...

I did photography for GCSEs which is pretty much the same thing, but we did it on PowerPoint and only had to include one drawn piece. I got a 2, which would be like an f I think 😂, by the end I just couldn't be bothered, I didn't even finish it, pretty sure every one of my PowerPoints were incomplete 😂

Ms Brownie honestly it’s so much more complicated. You follow the exact same specification and exam as the art gcse except there is a LOT more writing - you have to write paragraphs analysing and justifying every photo you take and then another paragraph to explain and justify your edits. Believe me it takes sooo long to do it all 😢😢
