In this video I discuss Profile Tolerances.
I use ASME Y14.5-2018 as a reference.
If you are taking a class of mine at HVCC, the textbook reference is Chapter 11 of the textbook below.

You really understand GD&T, plus you can explain it. You provide the interpretation that the standard does not provide and you go deep into each subject. Your GD&T explanatory videos are among the best IMO. Thanks for sharing knowledge!

The discussion on GD&T Profile Controls. Profile is one of the most common callouts for "GD&T" on drawings. The Instructor Mr. R. Dean Odell does a great job and he deserves credit as a quality-teacher. Thanks for the fine effort as a 2-D or a 3-D Profile Controls. 11:45 I really like this style of teaching. My ADHD is constantly focused on your face, instead of 'listening' to what you are saying, or even 'understanding' the words. But because the board is so blurry, and we have examples in focus. I have a better time listening, focusing, and understanding. I'm used to the digital graphics style presentations is all. So I appreciate this particular video more, over the rest of your content. Thank you.

My question is if we are giving A I B I C datums into profile. I would assume that A, B and C surface's are going to be used at assembly... right? and if we are not going to use surface B. We would not put B into our datum box. So it is important that when CMM is going to check point's on the surface that we are inspecting. It is fixed to A, B and C surface's(with 3-2-1 method). In this case we are actually pretending to make the assembly and trying to figure it out if it would fit in real life as well. I guess I don't have a question but I am watching all the video's to understand correctly.

Hello, I'm trying to find an understanding of applying profile of line to a feature of size. To be more specific, this is an irregular feature with basic dimensions. Can you use the MMC modifier when applying profile of a line to this type feature of size? I would love to email you about this in order to be more specific.

Hi, My apologies for such a late reply! You can not use the MMC concept with the profile tolerance (surface or line). You can use the MMB concept to add MMC to datum references in a profile tolerance. Feel free to reach out if this is still an issue you need resolved.
