[WARNING: LONG POST AHEAD] I would love it if one day, you guys watched a guide or something on Bigbang! You have watched some MVs (their crazy ones lol) but I would be interested to see your thoughts on their lyrics and impact. They are one of the MAJOR reasons idols are able to self-produce these days, the new "made" idols. By the way, their huge project is known as the MADE album, an amazing collection of their work released slowly over the years. Bigbang were one of the first in the industry to be completely self-produced and have creative control of their art (not the usual "manufactured" idols the industry was notorious for). They were also the first mainstream hip hop group. They were known as a type of revolution against the sugar-coated industry, and redefined it. They entered the BB 200 charts without the help of social media and held the largest kpop concert world tour to date. Even BTS attended them. They were the first to make a lightstick which, as we know, is a huge part of kpop culture today. They also began the precedent of idols dying their hair (as you may see, idols before then all had black hair lol), but BB challenged the rigid norms of SK. They were always so bold with their fashion. Bigbang inspired so many of the artists we know today, including BTS, EXO, Blackpink, Got7, etc. Jungkook saw GD perform when he was young and that made him want to become a singer. He said his stage presence, his ability to self-produce, his composing/songwriting (he wrote with such metaphors and play on words, that even koreans themselves acknowledge to be amazing!), and how he had a foot in everything from music to fashion...that made him dream to become an artist like that. Jhope was inspired by Seungri and his dancing, and even attended Seungri's dance academy. The impact this group has is insane, and it isn't JUST because they make fun music videos with catchy moves and hard beats. No. They challenged the status quo and they made music that connected with a large and passionate audience. This is what makes them legends. In the future, BTS would be viewed as legends in the same way...pushing the boundaries of music as we know it. We want people to respect their work and try to understand the depth of their impact as well. Sorry for this long post lol, just wanted to lay it out :) I have been a subscriber and consistent viewer since your very first kpop video reaction to svt and i watched as you discovered BTS the same way.. if you have time, please go back on your own to look into the artisic and lyrical references of Doomdada, and the lyrical depth in the other songs you've already reacted to! Also GD and Taeyang's solo work! You won't regret it!

You guys may laugh at this mv but I don't think you truly know how much of an icon Big Bang is. Like each member contributed to pushing forward idol revolution in terms of music producing and fashion. I mean ngl but y'all brushed off the lyrical depth and artistic symbolism within the messages of Doom Dada mv and song, which upset me a bit. Also, G Dragon is a lyrical genius GENIUS. He uses word play that even Koreans can't help but be in awe and praise him for. Taeyang continues to be a vocal inspiration and his dance abilities are praised worldwide. He was a household name in the west for sure and that a big deal back then! I get you guys were focusing on the mv but Big Bang depicts their depth in artistry through different ways that may seem crazy and that's another great appeal of theirs. They were and still are musically revolutionary and I really wish you could look into them like BTS. To me BTS are more direct and easy to figure out, so with Big Bang it will take more than just reacting to a mv here and there.

Gangster Hamster is the best description of GD. The man’s a veritable cutie when he’s not on stage. There’s this variety show called Happy Together that BIGBANG appeared on when they were promoting the MADE albums. They appeared on it right after releasing ‘Loser’. You should really check it out to get a feel for what they are as individuals!

I love them!!! I truly do! BigBang is amazing whether the members are all together (ot5) or solo or in subunits, the music is gonna be good. The videos are gonna make you go 😮 Hard to believe from that MV that GD can get hella shy and embarrasses easily or that Youngbae (Taeyang) has one hell of a pajama collection that he practically lives in. Originally GD x TaeYang were going to be a hip hop duo until CEO decided to add TOP, Daesung, and Seungri calling it BigBang which was a much better choice because they’re now legendary kings of kpop....GD is literally holds the title “King of Kpop” Hes been part of the kpop scene since he was about 5 years old and became a YG trainee i believe at 8 years old, he became childhood friends with TaeYang when they were both 12 years old (It’s been 12 yrs now for me I don’t remember every detail) but now he’s 30 currently serving in the military along with TOP 31, TaeYang 30, and Daesung 29...Seungri will be enlisting soon once he’s done with his solo work!!
