Agreed.....very well done. I'm having a problem where some of my controls, prop levers, condition levers will only move if they are mapped to one of my controllers. If I try to move them with my mouse, they won't move in any of my Carenado planes and XP 11. Any suggestions? It's driving my nuts.
@totoritko7 жыл бұрын
Jack Flash Strange, never seen this problem myself. Make sure you don't have the function dual-mapped to another controller, that might be holding you back. Alternatively, try to map keystrokes for prop & condition increase/decrease, maybe that'll work.
@supanova887 жыл бұрын
I can only suggest to carefully go through all your controllers and check whether the axis is assigned to one of them. If you find an assignment, delete it and see if that helps.
@totoritko7 жыл бұрын
Jack Flash Thinking some more about this, make sure you don't have a sub-axis assigned to another controller. So if for example you are trying to use an axis with a "mixture" assignment, if you have another axis set to "mixture 1", then the global mixture axis won't affect the mixture of engine #1. So make sure you have no other axis assignments for similar functions, because that can interfere.

Hello, a great tutorial, one of the best I've seen as it really explains what's behind each system etc. A question - is the procedure the same for the C90?
@supanova888 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with the C90, but looking at the cockpit layout it would appear procedures should be similar.

This is obviously not your fault, but the panel the tells the nose direction and the compass that is black, but the garmin is operating. Do you know how to fix this, or am I missing something? When I have start with engines running on, its on though

Excellent video sir! Can you share the text of the STARTUP Checklist? Carenado makes incredible aircraft, but their provided checklists have a lot to be desired.
@supanova887 жыл бұрын
I'll look at uploading checklists in the future. As you noted, the Carenado checklists are poor.

Nicely done, good and clean explanation. Just 1 thing, you did a startup without ground power, that's a generator assisted startup, but you turned off the right generator while you started the left engine. As far as I understand you keep the right engine on high idle precisely for the right generator and use its output to start left engine. If you turn off the right generator you are loading the battery only with 2 engines, that's not healthy (I'm not sure but I think real aircraft left engine would not even start without right gen on or ground power. The only battery is on the right side next to the engine, left side have the inverter at that place) Correct me if I'm wrong but watching some RL start ups and skimming the POH I understand it this way.
@supanova888 жыл бұрын
The right generator is charging the battery to loadmeter reading of 0.5. All the documentation I have read - and a real world video - has the right generator turned off before starting the left engine. To a certain extent it's moot unless and until Simcoders release a REP for the aircraft.
@andyyiu39878 жыл бұрын
As a King Air Captain, his procedure for starting the machine is pretty much how I start the machine in real life. After starting the first engine, I turn on the associated generator until load is below 0.5. Then the generator comes off before I start the other engine. The reason this is done is because for older models of the King Air, having the generator on while starting the other engine will damage the 325A current limiters. So, the generator is turned off, the opposite engine is started, and then the generator is thrown back on after fuel is added for the second engine. This said, some people I know do in fact leave the generator on. It gives a cooler start for the 2nd engine. This is great so long as they are in an aircraft that isn't prone to blowing current limiters. But the method of turning off the gen seems more proper to me.
@Balu08 жыл бұрын
Andy Yiu thank you for the insight !
@andyyiu39878 жыл бұрын
No problem! It is worth mentioning that in the B200 King Air, you actually do have enough battery to start both engines with 23+ volts, although generally isn't good practice. For a cross gen start, the right generator (if starting right then left) should be turned off, and then turned back on after the left condition lever is brought up for left engine start. It's more of an issue specific to the King Air. On a Beech 1900 (overgrown King Air), the start-up sequence is essentially the same but the right gen can stay on because it doesn't have the current limiter problem.

Great video, high quality. I'm looking for a twin turbo plane for X-Plane 11, would this be the best option or do you recommend something else?
@supanova887 жыл бұрын
I only have experience with the B200. Your choice is going to depend on what aircraft interests you most, and what is best supported in XP11. The best advice I can give is to spend some time reading reviews on the X-Plane store to find the right balance for you. Some will look better than others, some will be more realistic.
@ichcoolichdani6 жыл бұрын
Hi, just one question. Why don't you use the generator to start the second engine? Also, if you're starting the second engine with battery power only, you shouldn't need to set the first engine to high rpm. As far as i'm told, high RPM is only required to ensure you get enough juice form the geni to start the second engine.
@supanova886 жыл бұрын
The idea is to start the right engine, wait for the electrical load to drop, then turn off the right generator to reduce amps so that it doesn't blow the current limiter, and start the left engine. The condition lever is used to increase output from the generator.

Good job! A concern I have about the Carenado B200 is the ITT rise at start. In real life, the needle is quickly rotating much higher than in the sim and it's something the pilot has to monitor. In the sim it never rises more than 400°C. Unfortunatly, we don't see the the ITT gauges in the video and I cannot double-check the same happens here. Is this something that can be improved in a way or another to better match reality? (modifying the LUA files or editing something with Planemaker?)
@supanova887 жыл бұрын
I have noticed that the aircraft doesn't perform as might be expected in certain areas. I have no experience with editing aircraft so I don't know how much could be done to improve it. I suspect it requires a REP from SimCoders, or something similar, which is unfortunate as there's a lot to like about the aeroplane.
@MrAlastairwylie4 жыл бұрын
This tutorial is straight forward however. I wished you would explain in more detail about the autopilot and I would recommend you familiarise yourself with more than just the B200. The C90 and B350 are very very similar just different on board equipment. And people are asking if this is the same procedure. Yes it is. I recommend people buy the B350 first since the C90 and B200 can feel like it has an excess in power
@supanova884 жыл бұрын
Yes. If you can fly the B200 you understand how to fly the other aircraft in that series.

hey I got the carenado tbm 850 but its kinda broken. static elements aren't there, the people inside the plane are glitched, and I cant move the sun shade to access the battery. Great video. As seomeone who is completly new to this game. I somewhat took this as a step by step instruction. BUT, i have the isue, that my interior simply looks different from yours, not only am i missing the park brake, but also some buttons and the whole panel under the fuel information is not clickable. Is there anything i can do to fix this or did i miss something. Would really appreciate an answer, and i just hope my question is not to stupid to annoy you XD

If it's the Carenado King Air B200, rather than the stock King Air, you may need to re-install it. The files can easily become corrupted.

Hey Supernova, how did you get this plane to work in X-Plane 11? I have the C90 and nothing works. HELP!!
@supanova887 жыл бұрын
The B200 has always worked fine for me, with the exception of having to arm auto ignition for engine start, and the power levers not liking the reverse thrust position. I think the best advice would be to wait for the XP11 release version, and for Carenado to update their aircraft. I think it's going to be hit and miss for payware aircraft until then.
@garytash7 жыл бұрын
Thank You! Really enjoy your videos. Just wish the C90 worked as well as the B200.

The only thing I can think of is arming auto ignition if it's not starting. Hopefully the B200 and C90 will be included on the Carenado update list.
