Aww thanks man! When i sent the devs my script, they did say that they were thinking of something like that, and make it work right out of the box, i guess they just didnt have the time to write it and test it :)

hi! I have a small problem with gdevelop and more specifically with the smooth camera extension. For some reason I think the extension doesn't make the camera as smooth as it's supposed to be! it seems to get small stutters when the camera follows the player and especially when it starts to slow down! what can I do to solve this? thanks! great channel!

To get smooth camera working you only need to add it to the object you want it to follow, make sure you dont have any Camera Events on your event sheet, nothing that would mess with the camera. Try deleting and re adding the smooth camera extension to the object and then leave the default sttings on to see if it was something you changed. Run your profiler and check the Total latency, if your game is running really slow it could be causing that effect. Also are you using antyhing thats not normal in your project? like my Script for culling, or are you doing something to object off camera? it could be that when the camera is moving and things are loading it could cause some issues. Theres lots of reasons for that to happen sadly :( Try doing some testing and then letting me know! With more feedback i can help you better :)

I have an event that saves the position of all my objects and and store them in an array variable So I was wondering if the position of the objects are still recorded, like as an object when they are off screen

With my script not only are they recorded but you can still reference them, for example, even tho the object dosent exist, you can still make events like "Create Object at X and Y of the culled object" and it will work, if you mean if my script will affect your array event, it shouldnt since it culls the object but their reference coordinates never disappear, try it out and check it, but im almost sure it wont mess with your events

Just because im curious and i dont wanna look through the whole video to find out... what the hell is object culling? Something to do with performance?

Object culling is reducing the number of objects active in your game, for example, if an object is out of view, then it dosent need to exist, so you delete it or "cull" it so that it dosent suck up performance.

@RetroGameLogic so, for an example, maybe breath of the wild(or tears of the kingdom, great games btw, you should play them if you havent already)? I learnt that it does the same thing, as well as reduce polygons for parts of the overworld that is far away, so THATS object culling? Cool, now I have a word to describe that.

Good question, i need to test it, but it should! The way the culling works is that all information is stored in variables, when you create a save state your saving all variables, so nothing should change... in theory that is, but you know progaming lol ...but yeah, it should work, now that i think about it, essentially what your doing is a save state for every object, your storing them in arrays and then loading them from that variable, so should be fine :) Ill test it when i have the time to be sure!

Thanks to your question i already started working on something that will make saving and loading much easier! Thank you for the feedback, once im done with what im cooking up. ill post a video on how to get it and use it :)
