I think that sledger actually performs better as a support tower because of its freeze and placement limit. Put them in key areas that alot of towers can cover the freeze will allow other towers to attack them for longer. I'd say its better at stunning because of the splash damage since you will rarely encounter one boss on its own. I'm not saying warden is bad, in fact I use it with the sledger in my loadout, it's just that they have different uses and thrive in different situations

I would say that sledger is good for when you are playing with about 2-3 ppl including yourself because the max limit is 20. Sledger taking those 6 slots are fine. Plus, its freeze and debuff makes it a great support unit for other towers to do more damage.

I find it funny that warden was based off of riot control armor which deals with crowd control and Gladiator deals with only 1 person which is based off Roman Gladiators (Most of the time) in combat but tds flips the roles!

Thats because in real life a sword can damage multiple people in one swing if they are in close proximity to one another, but on the other hand a baton can only hit one person at a time, it isnt like the baton can chain electricity through its opponents and hit multiple people in one blow.

Even with no splash damage, it can be used in early game, mid game, and late game, early being for damage, mid being for damage/stuns and late game being stun bait and stun supports, and damage. Glad can reflect stuns but cannot stun himself, so he isn't a support tower, and sledger is able to do good damage but has a placement limit and can't reflect stuns. So obviously the winner is slasher

I would say that warden isn’t just good for minor bosses but major ones as well such as the minions of the fallen king and molten boss, plus warden is similar in terms of support with sledger but has no placement limit, does more damage and has better range and can therefore be more effective, especially if you are using something like accel and only a few wardens at the entrance.

@@NoahPickle lies. Sledger only has a placement of six. Final bosses are weak to sledgers, this may also affect the warden but as you can see warden’s damage at max is compared more than sledgers. Plus at max level the warden can block stuns. If you say that its expensive. You may be right. But you have plenty of time to max it before facing the boss if you have farm. But at this rate everyone will have farms if they are level 25+. Plus if your solo 3 level 2 wardens handle a normal boss maybe even two. And since wardens get hd over level 1. And your solo. You get plenty of time to get alot of level 2 wardens because it has no limit and solo a hidden boss. Sledgers early game is really trash since you get no access to level 3 yet.

I feel like 3 of these towets have their own specific uses. Gladiator is great for speedruns and early game. Warden is good for high health mini bosses (tank) and sledger is good for mini bosses and for support. Overall though I like gladiator more because it fits in with basically most loadouts.

the thing about warden is it costs more in game than sledger and also i think that the upgrades cost more to and the stun dosnt last as long as the sledgers freeze atleast i think also if you place 6 level 3 4 or 5 sledgers as the start of the map like you would do with glad the sledger carry all the way up to wave 40 only thing you would have to worry about is hiddens but they can hit hiddens if they try to hide a not hidden enimy they can sometimes hit hiddens but if you pute a few wardens at the start unlike sledger they dont spawn kill i would say sledge and warden are around the same amount of good they would prob go on the same level of a teir list

honestly the first time i used warden i was surprised with its power you can easily solo molten with farm commander and dj on alot of maps i presume (i tested with necropolis *the new map* and rocket arena) its honestly very fun to use and it doesnt cost much at early levels. i'll agree that sledger is better for support and CC but warden is just better imo

I like how all the melee towers slowly evolve. The glad has lower damage but amazing crowd control. And a few can easily carry you until some of the higher health enemies come in. Gladitator, Is more early game and a filler in tower Sledger is more support and best around Mid game and useable in late game to controll hordes and maybe spawns from bosses like molten boss Warden is mid-late game and probably I would say the worst. warden may have better dps and all but you never use melee towers as actual dps. Glad and sledger are way better for support as glad helps early and sledger once you can get the money helps with crowd controll and high hp enemys

Btw, gladiator lost cuz he is normally used in all of the first waves It’s good on wave 1 to 25 While the sledger is a mid game Basically 25 to 30, it stuns enemies so it’s good for slow bosses The warden won cuz he can stun, he does 80 damage, he swings his melee quite fast , he stuns and he can’t get stunned.

Once you get to late mid game and late game wardens crowd control is fine due to its fast hit rate, stun ability and its wide range, which balances the crowd control out. Although i will always say glad is best for crowd control, it gets to a point where it isnt really a weakness for warden, just not an advantage like it is for gladiator.

True, I use sledger alot but don't rely on the splash for hiddens because it requires a non hidden enemy to be next to it. You can increase your chances by placing them so that they hit overlapping areas set one targeting to last and some to closest etc. But even then I wouldn't count on it to deal with hiddens, your other towers will do that. Sledger works great as a support tower rather than a dps tower
