Interesting how much of South Africa(Cape Colony) was so wealthy in the 1600s-1800s. They even rivaled the lines of Britain in GDP per capita.

Big-up to these economists from 16th century who literally calculated gdp ppp with their hands and head. Comparative figures between kingdoms adjusted of bread and flour inflation per kingdom, all of this written on parchments using bird feathers. Very impressive.

Totally agree with you.Especially Japan Edo periodo,it's economical growth rate approximate 1 % and Japan surpassed Chinese GDP for PPP per capita in 1762.

@@jormabs Me refiero el sacro Imperio nunca fue un país, fue la unión europea de la edad media . Todos los estados que lo formaban eran independientes y se peleaban entre sí, formaban alianzas, uniones y no tenían mucho que ver . Lo único que los unía es que eran germánicos y que votaban a un reino que actuaba como emperador.
