GDT 2021 Episode E2: Highest Point on the GDT

I had planned a nice leisurely day of hiking from Michelle Lakes Basin up and over the highest point on the GDT and then further still to a peak overlooking the basin. Not only did the clouds lift, but the smoke was all gone as well! We spent over an hour at the peak exploring the ridge, and then made our way down to the pass and down to the head of Waterfall Creek valley. Back up steeply to Pinto Pass and then down the LONG decent to the lake. Although the north campground was crowded, we enjoyed visiting with the campers.
Definitely one of the coolest days on trail!
