*Works so well **Fastly.Cool** that it only requires daytime operation until high temp and humidity are overnight. It is difficult to get to side filters, but back is easily accessible.*

You should've AT LEAST showed the window installation process because some of those installations are not so simple.

@@spaceboysloth I live in Michigan so the humidity we have had the past couple days has made it feel horrible. Currently running on the dehumidifier setting and it’s a life saver for the upstairs part of our home.

For the GE...I just bought a 12K BTU one and they are virtually identical in build, so my question is the exhaust hose...is it clockwise or counterclockwise when installing on the unit? I've heard the hose is a bit flimsy and will probably go with a better one but can't get an answer on this. Thx.

I made a decision to get me a window AC unit for my bedroom 5,000 BTU cause my Central air unit went out. But it was fixed for the time being. As of now that unit is struggling and it's an old system. So I'm gonna invest in getting another AC unit for the dining room/living room.

Quick question. Do you need to install the window kit & exhaust hose when you put into dehumidifier mode?

Pretty cool... call me weird but I like portable/window ac’s over central air... reminds me of a hotel

Don’t like Window units. they are the loudest. Mini split ductless are the best and quietest

Hey! Great video! I bought this one yesterday (the 8,200 BTU version) do you have any concerns of the hose getting really hot? I have mine going for the first time and it’s making me a bit nervous how warm that hose is. Lemme know!

The hose getting hot is inevitable.

Which one uses more energy OR which one is more ENERGY EFFICIENT? Thanks!

A window unit is more efficient and the portable uses more energy.

Thanks for info, we recently bought a similar GE model and wonder what anyone does for the issue at the end - putting a screen over the exit vent to prevent insects from going down the vent. We can't use this method of pulling down the screen since ours is vinyl and would soon deteriorate. Thinking of buying a piece of metal screen (mesh) to somehow fasten over opening. Has anyone does this outside of fastening it with masking tape? Thanks.

Question on the GE portable ac how or what is the best way to drain the water? Than you in advance.
@SirBizzMakes3 жыл бұрын
You probably found out by now but get a baking pan, sit it behind the unit, open drain cap, and watch your AC unit relieve itself or give it privacy depending on what you’re in to.

Does the Portable GE have dehumidifier function?
@PassportBrosBusinessClass3 жыл бұрын
Air conditioners ARE Dehumidifiers. The GE AC can remove moisture from the air while simultaneously removing heat. There is a reservoir which must be emptied when it fills up.
@bloodclot2 жыл бұрын
@@PassportBrosBusinessClass this answer is not good enough. Some portable air conditioners have a separate button labeled DRY or Dehumidify.
