Thanks for doing this. As a new dad I hate walking in to my rooms and turning lights on and off and not having a relaxing option that’s warmer and can can be dimmed. Sleep is key and shocking our eyes is not good. This is excellent

These lights are great just be sure you set them to "location only on when I use this or only on this one time" because otherwise they are datamining you 24/7

Just a note, if you did want to do the Light Shows from Alexa you can create a Scene in Cync, then create an Alexa Routine based on that scene which can be any color or light show you select.

you can also just say the name of the lightshow to Alexa and it will know without a Routine needed

I wish GE would use zigbee instead of Wi-Fi I think Philips hue is much better as far as reliability the GE bulbs seem to go offline quite a bit so I think Philips hue is a bit better

From the review, this looks like the set up I'm wanting, but - I don't use Alexa or Google Home, nor Apple. Can I operate the lights (on/off, light temperature, brightness) from the Cync app only? If so, can I set an on/off schedule with only the app? And if that's a yes, if I'm away from home will the settings still work or do they need my mobile to be near by to turn the lights on?

U can have it set up to turn on and off automatically based on sunset and sunrise where ur located

Can these be installed without using the GE app, and only using the Google Home app i.e., native support?

It's best to install with the app, and keep it on your phone even if you don't use it. Occasionally, they push out new firmware to the bulbs. You need to at least have the app installed on your phone to update the bulbs. When you see reviews complaining about theirs stopped working, it's likely because they deleted the app and their firmware is just out of date.

I'm not a fan of that level of domotics, but i like if I can control the lights from a remote control that i can place near to my bed for example, this looks like something cheaper than can be managed that way

if you get a wire free switch (or spend more an get the cync remote) you can do anything you like to a group of devices. if you use the app you have to wait but a 6 button switch is anywhere and instant

These SUCK! Period! I have the bulbs, outdoor plugs, strips, etc. The overall frustration with how spotty and unreliable these are, are not worth the time. You get what you pay for in this instance. I wish I could return them ALL. Additionally, the app is not a gem either.

Have you found anything better? Mine just woke me up an hour EARLY. I have them set to turn on at 10 thru google cause it wont do it thru the app at all, and they turned themselves on at 9. This is the third time. Before that, I had trouble getting them to turn on in the morning at all.... It was set right. Half the time they wont even connect. ._.

@@picachugirl2036 I would check that you actually have the lights enabled in the Schedule first. If they are turned off when you create the schedule then thats how they will operate based on the time set. I'd go to your schedule and click the three dots, get to the lighting section and three dots again, and make sure the toggle switch is in the right position.

Nah... CYNC is fine as long as you have decent wifi. I never had any problems. Also, Hue is stupidly overpriced. Let's say you want to start off with 6 color bulbs, 2 smart plugs, and 2 light strips. That's pretty reasonable, right? With Hue, you would already be paying over $500. You can get the same thing from CYNC for around $160. No exaggeration. I'm not knocking Hue's products. But the prices are ridiculous. To each his own, but there is no way in hell I would pay close to $50 for a damn light bulb.

@@stephencooper3583 I have decent wifi and had to reinstall them every month or two. I yanked them all. Too many hassles. I'll spend that $160 on Ikea zigbee bulbs.
